Life On Tuesday

I'm sure you all are getting tired of sewing these pink and brown blocks but here are 3 more that I did last night! I have done any so far today, maybe later on tonight. I tried to catch up on some laundry and cut the grass. I even switched some horses around in different pastures.



Today I got this wonderful package from Mary in Canada. Mary doesn't have a blog but she ran onto my blog and we have became very good friends via email!!! Don't you just love the internet??? Anyway, Mary is making a quilt with like a million 2 inch squares. I can't remember the exact amount but there were so many that I would not attempt to sew that many together! So I was curious on what fabrics she was using so what does she do????......She sends a box of sqaures that she has been using in her quilt! How nice is that?? Here is a photo of the pile of squares and she also sent the vintage reproduction fabric!!! My mom is so fascinated by how nice that complete strangers can be when they want to be. She so enjoys when I tell her about things that are going on in my "Quilty World"


I mentioned a few days ago about Chantal burning her fingers on the lawnmower, well here is a photo of her hand! She said it is still very sore!

And here she is trying to pack off Bruno!!!! Isn't he cute? Well, he is cute now but he will probably be so ugly when he grows up! :) We still have all of the others outside and if I can't give them away within a few more days then I will just have to call the animal shelter. I really hate to do that but I just can't feed all of those. That would be 10 dogs plus all of our other animals. Does that make me a bad person to take them to the shelter?


Well, I'm off! I've got to get the boys to bed!!!!

Monday, Monday, Monday...

Here are the 3 blocks that I finished yesterday! I know that 3 is not too many but at least I am a little closer!!!! Now I have a total of 38 of these blocks!! Hopefully, this evening I can do a few more after everyone goes to bed.



I was going to work on a few more blocks last night, but my sister called and she had burned her hand so I drove out there real quick! So here is the story...silly girl was trying to cut the grass before mom comes home on Friday, but she worked yesterday and tried to cut the grass at the edge of dark. She ran over some kind of rope (because she couldn't see it) and it wrapped around the blades. She turned the mower off turned it over and touched something, I never did understand what she touched, but she burned two of her fingers really bad.

The burns are only about an inch long each, but they were deep. She does not tolerate pain very well so sissy had to run to the rescue. I saw rescue but I didn't really do anything. We soaked them in vinegar and brown bags, that helped some but when she got to work this morning (she works at a doctor's office) they called her some ointment in at the pharmacy and wrapped her fingers. She said she was feeling better.

I finally got my favorite sewing machine going again!!! I am so happy, I feel like I have a new machine!!!!! I have several machines but this one is my favorite, I really can't tell you why but it just is! I ordered a new foot controller and it works perfect! A few thing on the inside of the pedal was worn into!!! I guess that just shows how much that I used it. So I am a very happy girl!!!!

Oh and here is another photo of Bruno, Hunter's new puppy!!! The others are still here so we will be trying to give them away to good homes. And the horse is "Jingle Bells" he is also Hunter's, he was playing around last night so I grabbe the camera!

Quilt Blocks and Puppies!

Here are the 5 blocks that I did yesterday! These now bring me up to 35 blocks on the Love Letter! A far cry from the 110 that I need! I am really enjoying working on these quilts. I love how each block is different and of course I just love the Civil War fabrics. I think I will order my border fabric for this one soon. I have two fabrics picked out for this one but I am only going to do one border so I just need to decide between them.





Here I wanted to see how they were looking so I turned a quilt backing up so I would have a solid cream background, the sashing strips will be cream so this is alot how it will look. I didn't put them in any certain order I just put them down. I really like how it is looking.

This morning while I was fixing breakfast, Richard went out to feed the horses, he yelled for me to come outside and here is what he found.....8 puppies!!! I'm not sure if I got them all in the photo but there are 8! Don't have a clue where they came from, we live out in the middle of nowhere so from time to time people drop off puppies! I hate when they do that!!!!!! It really makes me mad! The are cute but we do not need anymore!! We have 2 outside dogs and did have a few more but they have disappeared. We have Ida Belle and Fred, which is a Bassett.



As you can see here, Hunter has gone crazy over them!!! He wants to keep them all. I think I will put an ad in the newspaper to see if we can give them away.

While I was back through the house cleaning and doing laundry, Richard let Hunter bring one inside. :( As you can see they are new best friends...this one is the runt and they have already named him Bruno!!!


Anyway, enough of all of that! I think I will finish cleaning the house and work on a few more blocks this evening...
