Started Another One! :)

Late last night I started another quilt! I know, I know, I am supposed to finish some of my UFO's first but I went through them and just could not bring myself to work on them. I just wanted something new! Know what I mean?? :)

I have tons of 2 1/2 inch strips precut and in 2 totes. They are sorted into lights and darks! I was looking through the Quiltville website and found the "Boxy Stars" pattern. It is completely made of 2 1/2 inch strips! So that was perfect. Here is my first block that I made...

Here are 8 blocks together. I probably will not set it up this way, I just layed them together for the photo. The original pattern has a sashing between the blocks. The pattern also only has 12 blocks but unless I get really tired of it I plan on making more. I want to shoot for 20! But we will just have to wait and see...

Anyway, I have 9 blocks completed and I need to cut pieces for more blocks!

Still stranded as of now, but tomorrow it is supposed to get up in the mid 40's so maybe will thaw out some. But then again we are to get another storm coming in on Monday. But I think it is supposed to be snow instead of ice! :) But right now we are all warm and cozy by the fireplace up here on Top Of The World! :)

I guess I am not the only one that starts new things even though there is a UFO pile begging to be worked on. LOL!!

Very nice looking blocks!!

I love those blocks. They are great! You have a lot more ice than we do, we got mostly snow, about 12 inches and another storm is supposed to be coming!

I figured it'd be a matter of time before you broke loose and started another one.

Great work!

I think those 2-1/2" strip quilts can be addictive! I have so many other projects I should be working on but started one of Bonnie's strip quilts (Strip Twist) the other day when we were snowbound here. The one you are working on looks like a lot of fun!

Love the blocks. I might have to do this one. First though I'll have to sort out my scraps properly.

Another new project! So easy to be tempted, huh? Hope you're all ok up there and not stranded for too long.

Great block! I'm a big fan of Bonnie and her Quiltville site. After seeing your blocks, I feel the urge to pick out a new quilt to work on, too. You are a bad influence! haha

Wow! That is a cool block! I know the feeling of the starting bug. I was guilty of leaning that way myself last night. I have 30 UFO'S and a binding to do and there I was laying out fabric for yet another. Also contemplating adding more blocks too!!! :)

Very pretty. I know I want to start something in the worst way - but I don't know what:) Hope the ice melts for you - it's 39 degrees here right now!

I just love looking at all of your quilting. Beautiful!
I hope your weather is improving and the ice melting.
I also hope the power is back to all those who were without it.
Keep warm.

Your blocks are looking wonderful. It's nice when you can be stranded with time for the projects you love.

Goodness, you're on "fast forward" when you find a project that you like. What a great spin on strips, Kristie. I've never seen this pattern before. It's very pretty.

I understand about wanting to start "something else"...LOL Can we ever have too many projects going? LOL
