**UPDATE**

In my last post I mentioned that our precious dog had been missing for 3 days...well...we found him....under the house...DEAD! We were outside and I happend to walk by that end of the house and smelled something...we looked and there he was. It was soooooooooo sad! He didn't look like he had been hurt in anyway, he looked like he had died in his sleep. Not sure what was wrong with him but at least we know now where he was. He is buried down next to Eb, one of our horses. Here is a larger photo of him and a fawn a couple of years ago. The deer would come almost everyday to play with him. How cute is that??

Today, Richard has left his door open to his tool building and look what I found....Jim, going in the building!!!! I told you all he just walks around the farm and we don't have him fenced in. He is the KING of the place!!!

I got 4 more Civil War Love Letter blocks finished today!! This now brings me to a total of 51! So ONLY 70 more to go!!!! hehehehe! I can't wait to hit the halfway mark, then it will be down hill from there.

I will probably spend the week bouncing back and forth on the Love Letter quilt and my hexagon quilt. It is very hard for me to stay on one thing when they are big projects!

Tomorrow, my SIL has another ultrasound! The baby is due in November and so far they don't know what it is yet. I don't think my brother wants to know but she does. I don't blame her, I would want to know too. They already have one boy and one girl so it doesn't really matter as long as it is healthy! But...I think it is a GIRL! So I will let you all know if I am right or not!!!!!! This means I will have to make another quilt!!!! :)

That is so sad. Our cat was missing this week for about 2 days and we found her under the house too, but she was ok. I am so sorry for your loss. I love the picture with the fawn, that is beautiful.

The Love Letter Quilt is going to be beautiful, can't wait to see it all together. I am hoping I get back to quilting this winter, I have had a hard time getting motivated this summer!

I am so sorry for your loss of Fred. I feel that at times it's harder to loose fur child than some people. He was so youmg yet for some reason it was his time.

I am so SO sorry Kristie.... Poor lil doggy. Something must have been wrong and he went to be alone. Dogs will do that sometimes when it is their time.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog...guess that will be more of a reason to keep one of the puppies.

Jim is quite the character..has a mind of his own, doesn't he.

I'm so sorry to hear baout your dog, but at least you know now - and also that he died in peace. We found a cat in our yard once that had crawled up under a bush and died... the owners had reward posters all around the neighborhood... so that was hard to knock on their door and tell them about it - but they appreciated to know.

your block look great. Love the pink/brown combo. Love from Texas! ~bonnie

I am so very sorry you lost your dog. After all, dogs are people, too. At least I think so.

Below is a site that brought me comfort when my dog died. Hope it helps you, too.

That is so sad about your dog, they really become part of the family. The only blessing is that you found him and were able to bury him xx

So sorry about your dog. It's very hard to lose a precious pet. I love Ole Jim and your stories about him.

Your pink and brown blocks are beautiful. What patience you have to work on them! Thanks for sharing them and keep us posted as you progress.

Have a great day!

Was Fred named after the bassett hound in "Smokey and the Bandit"? That's what came to mind when I saw his picture. I'm sorry he died. I do love that pic of he and the fawn.

Blocks look great!
