What a day....

Ever have one of those days where you just wish you could start it over or just curl up in a ball and cry?  Well I had one of those days yesterday.

When I first got up I had just a hint of a headache.  While fixing breakfast, I got a little sidetracked, burned the sausage and caught my stove on fire.  Richard was there and helped me get it all under control.  I do need to replace my burner because it is an electric stove and now that burner has a short in it.

Our water went off after having our well completely redone a couple of years ago.  This really stressed me out and Richard as well but he started tearing into the well and pump.  So I drove to town to pick up jugs of water, paper plates, cups and such.

So I'm in town and the Jeep starts to overheat!  I swear I can't make this stuff up!  I dig through my purse only to realize that I didn't have the cell phone with me.  I let the Jeep cool off and then continue on to Walmart. While in Walmart I use their phone to call my sister as I knew Richard was outside.  My BIL went to tell Richard and they came to my rescue.  Come to find out the Jeep was a little low on coolant.

Once back home, I just wanted to cry.  I was stressed.  Richard still working on the water.  Found out that the points were fried and had melted the cover over them.  He went and picked up another set of points, replaced them.  The water came back on for a little while and then back off again.  By this time I am really stressed thinking that we are going to have to buy a new pump.  Richard and Andrew were back out there tearing everything apart again.  Not sure what was wrong really but right now we have water!  It's been back on for a few hours so hopefully it is fixed for good!!!

I'm so glad that Richard is "redneck" enough to get the pump pulled out of the well and has the knowledge to try to fix it.  He is such a handyman.  He knows how to do a little bit of everything...makes me love him even more!  He and Andrew rigged up these pole logs, wrapped a chain around the top to make a tripod.  Hooked the water line and stuff to it and pulled up the pump.
At this point I was ready for the day to be over!  I was so stressed that I was getting on my own nerves and didn't want anyone to even talk to me.  LOL!  Needless to say, I never sewed a stitch yesterday!  Praying today is a better day.

Oh no Kristie! I thought my day was bad Mon+Tues but you trumped me! Hope the water is still on for you and that today is a much calmer day for you. I think we both need to stitch!

That was a lot to handle in one day for anyone. Hope today greeted you with sunshine and things just slide into place.

Yikes! What a day you had. I felt a little stressed out just reading about your day. Sure hope you have a better day today ... one with a lot of stitching - that would surely help!

Oh Kristie I remember the days of having our own well water - I don't remember how many times Mike had to pull the pump to fix it. We were so glad when the county put in a water system for all of us out here in our area of the county. At first there wasn't a lot of takers - people didn't trust it or something but there was enough of us that wanted "city water" that we got it - we paid extra on our water bill for two years to pay for it and never regretted it. People were told if they didn't sign up then they would be paying a lot more if they signed up later and they did and I think everyone on our road now are on "city water". That headache was over 25 years ago and we still have our well for watering things outside but the last time there was a problem with it Mike said forget about it, he was done with the well unless for some reason we really needed it wasn't going to pull it out one more time. he is very handy with things too and fixes everything except the heat pump/AC. You are lucky you have a handy man husband too - they sure are neat to have!

It doesn't hurt to just go have a good cry in the shower, oh wait,, you did not have water!
I understand a day like that. I just have to think OK, no one got hurt, my house did not burn down…..
Reading about your husband made me think of my own. He is very handy and not afraid to tear into anything. It is great seeing that your son is helping your husband and learning about these day to day things. That will serve him well. Alot of young men now adays, are NOT men. Keep on.

Hoping your day was MUCH better. It's so easy to take life's every day necessities for granted, and it's always a punch in the stomach when they quit suddenly. God bless Richard for knowledge and patience to fix them.
