Thoughts...

I've noticed that so many bloggers are announcing their word for the year and their New Year's Resolutions.  Well, I'm not usually one for resolutions because I can never stick with them.  LOL.  When I used to make my New Year's resolutions it would be something like losing weight and things like that.  So this year it will be something a little different.

My word for this year is going to be.....

RELAX

I always seem to be stressed and uptight over something and most of the time it is over things that I have no control over.  I hate being that way.

My New Year's Resolution is going to be to....

LAUGH MORE!

Again this may seem silly to some but this is something that I don't seem to do a lot of.  Don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful marriage, great children, a wonderful relationship with God, and I wouldn't trade my life for anything, but just the stress of everyday life stays on my mind so much.

Is this all too serious??  LOL!

Anyway....I hope to get some sewing done today after I get the house cleaned up.  The past two days have been busy for me and I haven't been able to accomplish a lot here at home.

Good for you on those "resolutions".
Life is too short to live stressed. Old saying but so true.

Great resolutions!

My resolution is to "use what I have". Th only quilting related expense I want this year is to pay my quilter and buy backings if needed. So far I have made it one week. LOL

I understand what you are saying, Kristie. I dealt with a lot of anxiety while raising my family. As good as my life was, I worried about so many things and couldn't enjoy the richness of my blessings like I should. You have made excellent choices. Here's to a year of relaxing and laughing more!! : )

Relaxing and laughing are two great resolutions and much easier than losing weight in my book. Take care!!!!

I have to laugh that your word is relax but you have to clean before you can sew... :-) I know things need to get done, but that made me chuckle!!! My word is Stretch - and I guess that is my resolution, too - in all it's connotations.

Just remember to do them! :)

As I was quilting last night, I was thinking of my word "do" and I realized that I was actually enjoying the process! IT works! :)

I normally don't make them, although I did this year. I like my friends - hers was to realize that she wasn't going to make any major lifestyle changes and to stop thinking that she was.

A couple years ago I was really stressed at work. Seemed like I couldn't make my work leader happy, and I was always stressing about whether I was doing a good enough job, among other things. I adopted the phrase KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON, and I printed up a big 8 x 10 of those words and put it in a frame and put it on the wall by my work station. So many people liked it, they asked for copies, so I made copies and laminated them, and they are hanging up all over the shop at work!

I haven't posted my word for this year yet, but I'm thinking mine will be CONTENTMENT. It's all about less stress and less pressure that we usually put on ourselves!

I hope you follow through with your word and resolution. We only get one life to live, Kristie. As my husband says when things get crazy....'In a hundred years, will it REALLY matter'? I think NOT.

Good resolutions. We really do put lots of pressure on ourselves. I try to 'relax' too but to me sewing is relaxing. The laughing more and stopping and enjoying the little moments are the key to life. Hugs and I hope you have a wonderful year of relaxation and laughing.
