What do you think?

I haven't done any sewing today but I have been planning...  I mentioned the other day that I wanted to get my Dresden Plate finished.  I was able to order the background fabric and the border/sashing fabric for it.  I put it up on my design wall to get a better idea of how it would look.  How do you think it would look if I used that dark brown for the centers too?
I will probably cut one circle out of the dark brown to see how it does look.  I'm getting excited about working on it.
Here is Hunter with his little road quilt/playmat.  He loves it and that makes me happy.  :)
Speaking of Hunter, he loves to draw.  I think he does a great job for a 10 year old.  Here is one that he did the other day, a Boxer.  I'll probably post a few of his drawing on here from time to time.  I am so proud of both my boys.  :)
Here is Leo, being nosey.  The flash of the camera flips him out.  LOL!  The silly thing even chases his shadow.  :)
I guess that is all for now.  Hunter is wanting to use the computer.  Hopefully tomorrow I will start on my Dresden centers.

I think that the beige and brown for the Dresden Plates will be nice! What a great picture HUnter drew!

I like the darker fabric as a center.
As to Hunter's drawing, I love it. I was an art teacher for several years and can see that is talented. If you don't mind a suggestion, maybe buy him a couple of how to draw art books that are age appropriate, of course, as to the head, body parts of animals. As he develops the talent these types of books will be helpful.
Barnes and Noble have great selections.
Hope I'm not intruding but sometimes schools don't promote art in the lower grades and by the time the child is older, he or she may have lost the will to develop it.
That was a lot of babbling so I'll stop...LOL

Hunter shows talent, Kristie!
I think the brown you have chosen would look fine in the centers, but I would be interested to try something else, too. Do you have a dulled, kind of mustardy color, that isn't cheddar or yellow? I would be curious how that would work (if you don't have it and would like to try it I can send you a piece that is leftover from a quilt back that would probably do the job if you like it).

I like the brown your using for you sashing and your background material. I have decided on different center material than I am using on my sashing. But I think either way is nice.

Hunter doesn't do a great job for a ten year old. He does an amazing job for anyone of any age.
