Nightly Ramblings...

Well, they have already canceled school here for tomorrow. We only have a dusting of snow but it is below freezing and I guess the roads will be a little slick. Through this Winter you will notice that we miss alot of school here. We tease that they cancel school if we get a heavy frost. So the boys sat up late with me and we watched a movie. We watched "Knocked Up" for the 100th time. Andrew finally went to bed and Hunter has fallen asleep on the couch. I tried to read some in my book but couldn't for Hunter and Ida Belle romping all evening.

I truly don't think that I am adjusting very well to this puppy in the house. Hopefully, it will get better and maybe I can tough it out until she gets a little bigger and can go outside with Fred. See the reason we have to keep her in to start with is that we had a pup several years ago that died of the Parvovirus. The vet says that that virus is in the ground here now and the only way that this puppy won't get it is for her to stay in until she has at least 3 sets of her shots. She has had only one set and the next set is scheduled for the 19th. I know that she is miserable too. She is doing better about using these puppy pad things but we have to carry her to the car and take her to mom's to let her play outside. It is a bit of a hassle but it is better than her getting sick and us losing her.

Chantal missed work today because of the slick roads and her 4 wd has a flat ( she has new tires ordered) so she drove mom's car in to town to stay with a friend for the night. That way she can make sure she gets to work in the morning. When I say that we live on "Top Of The World" I really mean it. That is what it is called and it is up on a pretty big hill. You can stand at the top of my driveway when all of the leaves are gone from the trees and see Prichard WV, which of course is in another state and about 30+ miles away.

Not really sure what I will get done tomorrow as far as sewing goes. The boys will be home and I have to take mom to town tomorrow afternoon. Since Chantal has her car she doesn't have a way. And then of course, when I get back home I will have to start dinner. So it looks like sewing is pretty much out of the question for tomorrow.

I guess I had better shut up for the night. I have to get Richard up for work in about 20 minutes....

Gemma is so jealous that they've cancelled school. Over here they only cancel school if we have 2 feet of snow, and that is very rare.

love and hugs xxx

We have to have a couple feet and 90 mile an hour wind before they cancel here. Usually if they close the public schools it's only once or at the most twice a year and the university I work for which is private will close too.

Wow, we usually only close if there is a big storm. Guess we have enough plows and salt/sand trucks since we get lots of snow up here. I did chicken out and worked from home on Monday since they said the roads were terrible with the 'first' storm of the season.
Hope you and the boys enjoy the 'snow day'.

Our school system is like yours as well. I live in a rural area and lot of the kids live outside town and the buses can't get out there. We just get a couple of inches and they cancel. The kids love it.

I enjoy your blog so much...just like talking to your sister...just the usual and the unusual things that are going on in your life.

You don't try to "bs" with stuff...just the ups and downs of life.

So much for my soap box musing now. Hope you had a "fun" day with the boys being home.

Wow I wish they'd cancel work that would be awesome.

Yeah, we have to have quite a bit more snow for us to cancel. Or, it has to be falling heavily during pre-rush hour. Maybe you will adjust to having the pup in the house yet!!
