As most of you probably know, my sister got married a few weeks ago. She was so beautiful. Here are a few of my favorite photos...
This is the archway that I decorated. Sheww....I was so nervous. :)
One of the bows on her cake table. (sorry it is sideways)
I think this is my favorite! Ronnie broke down in tears as soon as he saw her! He said that she was so beautiful. :) As you can see here he is wiping his tears.
My 4 year old nephew, Gabe. As soon as he saw her dress months ago, he instantly asked, "who is going to put her slippers on?" He thought she looked like a princess in her dress. So that was one of his jobs, to put her "slippers" on. :) Can you see the smile on his face?
My precious brother, John. As you can see he is very emotional. :) We all just love Ronnie to death but she is our baby sister. :)
Here I am helping her with her dress and trying so hard to hold back the tears. We are so close that I think of her as my own daughter.
My precious mom, she doesn't look 60. We love her so much. She was so happy but also a little sad, she has had my sister home with her for 29 years. My sister turned 29, 5 days after her wedding.
It was a very special day for us all. His family are such nice people and live close by also. Chantal and Ronnie have know each other since grade school and have been best friends for a very long time.
It makes me so happy to see her so happy. She is walking on air. Ronnie fits very well into our family and we all just love him so much. They dated for over 3 years so to us he was already part of the family. They both just smile constantly. :) I love seeing that.
This is all for this post. I don't want to cloud her wedding post with other stuff but I do have other news to share such as quilting stuff and some family stuff. I'll post it later...

We all survived the wedding on Saturday! My sister was a beautiful bride. I'll post more photos later....
This photo shows my whole immediate family. Mom, her 3 children and spouses, and of our children. I think this is the only photo that has ever been taken of us all together. (Richard and my 2 boys are on the end) :) I'm in the pink dress as I was her Matron of Honor.
It all went well and of course I cried, she is my sister and I think of her as my daughter, we are so close.
We all love Ronnie, her husband he is great! As soon as the doors opened and he saw her standing there he broke down and cried and love his heart he had tears rolling the whole ceremony. It was precious. He told her that she looked like a beautiful princess...

On Saturday we had a Bridal/Household Shower for my sister. I have a ton of photos to sort through but here are two. ;) This is the "dress" cake that mom and I made. Chantal loved it!
We were exhausted! We were trying to keep this all a secret from her and with all of the other wedding stuff we had going on were were just worn out. Friday, I baked 66 cupcakes not counting all of the other stuff that had to be done before Saturday. In the end it all worked out well and she was very happy so it was well worth it. She even cried!
Here is a photo of a clothespin that I painted and decorated for the shower. I made a half a million of them. LOL! They were used in a shower game that we played. I tried to make them look as close as I could to the bride and groom. Chantal has brown hair and Ronnie is bald. She loved them!
I'll post again as I can. The wedding is in less than 2 weeks so I will be very busy!

Not much quilting going on here the past few days. This is what I have been working on....wedding stuff for my sister! Yesterday I started decorating her archway. The plan is to decorate it in my sewing room, let her look at it to make sure she likes it, then take it apart and set it up in the Church a day before the wedding. Here is a sneak peak of it so far. I still have a lot more to do to it but my lower back and hips started really hurting last night so I had to stop. I think it was due to climbing on that ladder. The archway is 7ft and I'm only 5ft so I was on the ladder most of the time. Anyway, this is the photo that I sent to Chantal last night and she loved it. Once I get it completely finished she will come out and look at it for the final approval. I have over 40 yards of tulle on this thing!

I still have a lot more wedding stuff to get finished and the wedding is 3 weeks away! I didn't worry and stress this much over my own wedding. She is my baby sister and she has never been married before so she is super excited.
Other than the wedding stuff this little girl is taking up the rest of my time. Mammy has made herself right at home. She is hard to keep up with, a ball of energy! I had forgotten how much work a puppy is. I love her and she is so worth the work!
She will be 6wks old tomorrow and right now she weighs 9.4 pounds. The vet said she was healthy as a horse and trust me, she eats like one too.
How could you resist this little face? :)
Jazz the yorkie, doesn't like her at all, probably because she tries to chew on his nub/tail. Leo our boxer, likes her or should I say tolerates her. LOL! Leo has lots of energy too but I think after a little while she annoys him. She follows him around everywhere and tries to nurse! :) Actually she has been eating well on her own for a few weeks now but I guess that is only natural as young as she is.
I guess that is all for now, I'm going to stretch out here on the couch for a bit and see if I can get my back and hips to ease off.

I'm still working on my Metro Rings/Double Wedding Ring quilt. I have a few more pieces ready to square up and add to my design wall but hopefully I will get those squared up tonight or tomorrow.
I'm sure I will be up late again tonight since Richard is working and I am having a hard time sleeping. Hopefully I will have a chance to work on it a little more.
Earlier in the evening I did get to work on it a little.
I'm hoping that I will be able to get this finished before my sister's wedding shower but it's not looking good. :(
I have been very busy working on other things besides quilting, like stuff for my sister's wedding. Here is her bouquet to throw. Most of the flowers in it are just leftover flowers from the other bouquets and stuff.
Here are the 3 bridesmaids bouquets and again her throw bouquet is in there too.
Two mother's corsages.
Next I will be making 12 boutonnieres, pew bows, archway decor, all of the wedding ceremony decor, and all of the reception decor too. So if you don't hear from me for a bit you will know why. LOL! Her wedding is October 5th.

Night before last I realized that my sister is getting married in 2 months. October 5th to be exact and I am doing all of the wedding decor and bouquets. Let's just say....I'm really behind. For some reason I thought that I still had 4 months! DUH!
So yesterday I spent the day decorating her wedding bubbles. Here are all 100 bottles finished and ready!!!!
Here is a closeup of one of them. It is a little hard to read but the ribbon says, "Our Wedding" Just a simple bow tied with double wedding rings and a watermelon colored rose glued on it. Oh and I almost forgot the added bling on the bottom! Expect to see lots of the "bling" rhinestone stuff on her wedding things.
Next I guess I will work on the mother's corsages. I have Chantal's wedding bouquet finished too. I'm not sure if I have posted a photo of it or not, I'll have to look.
This morning makes me a little sad. Hunter started back to school. First day of 6th grade. Our county starts back before any of the others around here. He did pretty good this morning but of course I shed a few tears when the bus ran. Yesterday was a bad day for him. He had "meltdowns" all day! Just unhappy about everything from school starting to the pillow on the couch was getting on his nerves. LOL! Just a bad day!
Richard is off today and is at my mom's working on building her porch roof. I am currently upstairs in my sewing room having my coffee. The weather has been a little cooler so I am going to clean up here before I head to mom's later. With the heat I've just been piling things everywhere up here and now it is horrible.

I just wanted to show you a quick shot of my design wall. I haven't worked on it in a while but this is the last thing that I had been working on before my quilting break.
Tumblers....
Right now they are just sewn together in sets of 4 and placed on the wall. I'm sure I will move them around and I also have the other half of the quilt to piece. :) If I remember correctly, I don't even have them all cut out yet.
Shamefully, this is the state of my sewing room. :( A big horrible mess! I really need to find a cool day and get up there and get it back in order. It is so hot up there that I can't really stand to work up there too long. I have several sewing machines downstairs so I can piece on one of those. If you remember I had to do this same thing last summer.
We had our yard sale yesterday and it was a success! It was a long day but worth it. Not only did I get rid of a bunch of stuff, I also made a little extra cash. Oh and I got a sunburn! My sister and I set up in town and ready to sell at 8am. A friend from Church came a little later and set up with us. We stayed until about 3pm and started packing it up. I'm just glad that it went well.
Did I mention that I have been busy working on my sister's wedding stuff? I am doing ALL of her flowers and decorations. I will post some photos of what I have done in a day or two. So far the only thing that I have done are all of the wedding serving utensils for the reception. They are all decorated with rhinestone stuff. Her bouquet is FINISHED! Sheeewww...that baby had me nervous. I kept praying that she would like it and she loved it. :) She kept describing it to me and a while back mom, Chantal and I went and picked out what we would need for it. I also have 100 birdseed bags finished and decorated. Working on several other things. I've really got to get my butt in gear and get her stuff finished, there are only a million things left on the list. LOL!
Just wanted to check in, not sure if anyone even missed me! LOL! Oh life is crazy right now and I haven't even been quilting! I'll tell you more about that in a bit. First off, I dear friend of Richard's brought me this wonderful treadle cabinet! :) It was stored in an old building. He brought it out a few days ago and I was so pleased. Richard just sort of "rolled his eyes" because I think he knew that it meant that I would have to find a machine to go in it! LOL! Here are a few quick photos of it and I haven't even cleaned it up yet.
I love the detail on the sides!
Beautiful drawer fronts! Also all of the iron work underneath is in perfect shape. No cracks or breaks, just dirty!
I also found all of this stuff in one of the drawers. Not everything thing in there is sewing related but still it is fun to find.
I'll take more photos of it once I get it cleaned. Hopefully I can find an old treadle head for nearly nothing. :(
So no on to my reason for not quilting....HUNTER! Shewww....the poor little guy is having a hard time with his foot. It has been right at a month and it is getting worse, not better. He has gone from crutches to a boot. It is to the point that I have made a doctor appointment with another specialist just to double check everything. It is a long story and I'm not trying to say anything really bad about his current doctor but I am his mother and I know when things are getting worse and not better. Anyway, the fastest that the other specialist can see him is April 23rd. Please say a prayer for him, he is going crazy with this.
He is a very active child and he can walk on it at the moment but not very long (and I'm not even sure he should be walking on it) He is going to school and I am trying to do all of my housework and such while he is gone because once he gets home I spend all evening trying to keep him occupied with something so that he doesn't get so depressed. That leave very little time for quilting. As much as I love quilting, my family does come first.
I did get away this past Saturday to go with my mom, Chantal (my sister) and her friend Crystal to look for Chantal's wedding dress. She found one and she looks so beautiful! She had us all crying! We also found the bridesmaid's dresses, those are also ordered. I am her matron of honor and her friend is the bridesmaid. She isn't having a huge wedding, just a very nice simple one. Her colors are White, Silver and Watermelon. Oh and they have set the date for October 5th, that is 5 days before she turns 29. I am doing all of her flowers and decorations so I will be pretty busy with that too. I'm sure I will be very busy with all of that. Oh btw....this is MY dress that I will be wearing, I guess I can show you it, just not hers. :) I'll just say that she looks like a princess in hers.
I guess that is all for now, have to go start on the laundry!!!
