The American Flag Quilt...

Last night I got this awesome American Flag quilt loaded on the frame.  I got the quilting started but it was very hot up there so I stopped.
This belongs to a friend of mine.  It's not real big so it shouldn't take me just a few minutes to quilt it.  I'll finish it up this morning before it gets too hot up there and then I will remove it and do the binding today as well.
I am quilting this with my Becker's Stars or Becker's Shooting Stars panto.  I don't exactly remember the name without going up there to look.  I am also quilting it with Navy Glide thread.
I also got the binding all hand sewn down on Kellie's hexie quilt and she picked it up after Church yesterday.  She was very pleased with it and my brother was very proud of her.
Now for some awesome news!!!!  As most of you all know, I always have issues with my blood pressure and blood sugar.  I've been having a lot of issues for the past month or so.  Anyway, I have been trying really hard to get them both down.  Of course, I do take a ton of medication but they were both still high with the meds.  Yesterday morning when I got up my BP was great and my blood sugar was 109.  I haven't seen that number in I don't know how long.  Then when I checked it again mid-day I knew it was a lot lower because I was feeling shakey and it was 77!!!
Pay no attention to the date and time as I never set that.  LOL!  Anyway, it was 77 which was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!!  So much better than 500+.  I guess I was feeling shakey because my body is NOT used to it being normal.  LOL!

Richard is off today and probably needs it.  He had a long day yesterday and worked his 12 hour shift and never even had lunch so he was starved by the time he got home.  I'm sure all nurses know that this happens a lot.  We are supposed to have storms most of the day today so he will be stuck in the house.

So my plan for today is to quilt and bind the American Flag quilt and maybe even piece a few more of my Fancy Fox blocks.  Oh and I also pieced a few of my EPP casket shapes yesterday but forgot to get a pic of them.

Lot's of hexie progress...

This is what I have worked on since yesterday.  You really can't tell much about the design of it right now but once I get more of them sewn you can tell more about it.
I had to stop working on them because my hands were starting to cramp up.
For some reason I thought yesterday was Saturday!  LOL!  I don't know why but I am all messed up with my days.  I really didn't do anything yesterday other than work on my hexies, fix supper and do a little laundry.

I had a doctor's appointment on Monday to a specialist that I have been waiting forever to get in to see and wouldn't you know...they called and rescheduled it for the 11th.  I was so depressed over it that I just cried.  I have a ton of things going on healthwise and I was hoping to get in to see this doctor and get some answers to a few things.  This is a photo of my daily medications...I have to get off some of this junk.  It would be nice if I could take the money that I am spending monthly on medication and buy fabric with it!!!  LOL!
I mentioned supper earlier...I fixed lobster tail for Richard and Hunter.  Andrew was working and I hate seafood of any kind.  Richard loves seafood and Hunter does too but this was Hunter's first time eating lobster tail.  The bad part is...he loved it and I can't afford to buy it all of the time.  The good part...I bought 4 of them on markdown for $2 each!!!!
That is all for now....back to work on my hexies!

Catching up....

I haven't posted in a few weeks so I will get you all caught up on what I have been doing.  :)  I have done very little sewing and it has been my hexies.  This is an old pic but nothing much has changed with it.
I need to get to work on the baby quilts as we are having her baby shower the end of February and I don't have anything finished.  :(  I am soooo behind so she might end up getting the quilts after the baby shower.  :)

I have a one track mind....I have a hard time balancing more than one thing at a time.  This is not a good thing because I can't even concentrate on that "one thing" that I am supposed to be doing.  Anyway....I will get to that in a minute.  Do you remember a few weeks ago when I posted about my BP running so high, like this?
So after a couple of doctor appointments and tons of meds hopefully all will be well soon.  I won't bother you with all of the details but after lots of blood work and tests, I am now on 9 pills a day!!!!  UGH!  So not what I wanted at 42, but that is what I have to do right now.  The doctor said that it is very possible after some diet and exercise that I could be taken off these meds so that is what I am shooting for!!!  I am currently on BP meds, cholesterol meds, and diabetes meds.  :(  So as hubby nicely put it, maybe this is God's way of giving me a chance to make things better in my life.  Soooo.....as a start I have lost 6.6 pounds this week!!!  Tons of walking, a little bit of cardio, and a change in eating habits.  My wonderful hubby and kids are behind me all the way!  Not much sewing is getting done because my mind has been on this stuff.  :)

Been having some snowy weather here in KY.  I took this pic one day last week.  That is Bullet, our stud horse.  He loves the snow!
Here is a pic of Hunter that I snapped!  He was snoozing on the couch.  He was laying there with his eyes closed because he had something in his eye and fell asleep.  You can see the red spot from rubbing it.
Andrew leaves back out for work on Wednesday.  :(  I will sure miss my boy.  Another 28 days without seeing him, that is sure hard on this momma.  He turns 22 later this month so that will be hard not to see him on his birthday too.

That's all for now, hopefully I will have some quilty stuff to post in a day or two!
