Piecing right along...

Well, I really didn't mean to work on this but I have been. :)
I've been busy the past few days doing other things and the few minutes that I am getting in the sewing room I have been sewing these 2" squares together.
I now have 9 of these blocks.  Each block has 64 squares in it.  So far that is 576 of these 2" squares.  I sure hope that I don't run out of scraps before I get all of these scrap quilts finished.  LOL!
I've just been busy doing farm things and things in the house...you know....just being a housewife.  :)  Yesterday I also canned 7 quarts of chili for Andrew.  He likes to take them to work and splits a quart for lunch and finishes it up for dinner.  He works long hours.

Richard is off today so we are heading out this morning to buy him another pair of work shoes.  He is a nurse and on his feet 12 hours a day, 6 days a week so his shoes breakdown pretty fast.  So off we go to do that in a few minutes.  Actually, we are having our coffee and I still need to finish getting ready.  He is off today but works the rest of the weekend.

Sadly we lost our dear friend and eldest deacon of our church.  We live in such a small rural area that everyone knows everyone and has for generations back.  Uncle June as everyone called him had a stroke on his 96th birthday.  :(  The man still drove his car almost everyday and lived on his own.  He was also a WWII vet, mason and a whole list of things.  He was such a wonderful man.  His visitation is Saturday evening and the funeral is on Sunday.

Sorry this post isn't that interesting but it's just my life.  LOL!  I do have lots of sewing goodness coming up.  I have a couple of my quilts coming up that will be on the longarm, more customer quilts being quilted and also some custom customer quilts that I need to make.

Quilting Delay...

Oh what a day!  Shew....my plan was to get half of this hexie quilt quilted yesterday and that didn't happen.  I mentioned before that I am on a very tight schedule this month so I really didn't need this delay.  :(
After getting it loaded on the longarm all I was getting was thread breaks.  I quilted a pass of about 18" and broke thread 8 times during that.  I was just sick!  Long story short, I am quilting it with Warm & White batting and I had the wrong side of the batting up!  Yep!  Picked it out, flipped it over and sewed perfectly!!!  No breaks at all.  So basically all that I got done was I quilted ONE pass with the longarm and then it was time to fix supper and such.
So now I'm behind a day and this is only the 6th of the month.  LOL!

Here is a better pic of my new EPP project, the coffins.  I will decide on a different name for this quilt because it sounds dreadful.  I think I'm going to really enjoy working on this one.  I have a few sewn in pairs, a few hundred prepped and more ready to prep.
Today will be spent at the longarm, or at least that is my plan.  This is a really big quilt so I am just hoping to get half of it quilted.  Richard is off today so I'm hoping that he doesn't have other plans for me.  LOL!  I need to quilt!

Lot's of cutting...

Richard worked on Sunday so I wasn't able to go to Church so I did some cutting and sewing.  I grabbed my scrap basket and started cutting strips.  I cut 1.5", 2", and 2.5"
This was the first batch that I cut.  I didn't take a photo of the rest of them.
I sorted by color and sizes.  I mostly have 1.5" and 2" strips and a few 2.5" strips.  I need to add to that size.  I didn't cut my really bright and novelty fabric scraps up, I will just put those in a tote together as I don't use them a lot but may need them later for kid quilts and such.
I also did a little bit of sewing.  I worked on a few of my Churn Dash blocks.
I also sewed a few of my half-square triangles for my Jacob's Ladder.  I waited and finger pressed these and my Churn Dash units after Richard got home while we watched some tv.
I feel pretty good with all that I got done today.  Hunter is feeling a little better so back to school he will go tomorrow.

Carline...if you are reading this post, thank you for the info that you left in the comment section.  I couldn't respond back to you as it is set as "no-reply"  I will look for that and give it a try with Hunter.  Thanks!
