In My Sewing Room...

I've been really busy the past few days sewing.  I got this 9 patch off the frame and it is now in the pile to have the binding sewn on.
I also quilted this lap WVU quilt.  The binding is already on it and the quilt is now gone.  :)
I've been up in my sewing room for hours today.  :)  I have been piecing on this quilt.  This is an older photo but I don't have the other pieces up on the design wall yet.  I love working with browns.
I also took a few minutes to play around with these apple cores.  I have more cut and ready to sew.  A great use of scraps!
Last I will leave you with a photo of Leo and Mammy!  Leo was trying to sleep and Mammy wanted to play.  Can you tell Leo was annoyed?  LOL!  These two dogs crack me up!  They love each other so much.
 Back to the sewing room!

How I spent part of my day...

How I spent my day....
I have spent the past 2 hours folding and stacking 35 quilts in this unfinished closet. I still have over twice that many to go but I think that is all for today as my back is starting to ache. Lot's of memories as I unfolded and refolded each of these quilts.

Maybe I will get the rest of them folded and moved over the weekend.  Giggle....all 35 of these are in Andrew's room.  I'm sure he will be happy that they are moved.  :)

Another one on the frame!

Last night after getting my Scrappy Strings off the frame, I cut batting for 12 more tops!  I usually try to cut for several at a time.  This is the last of my roll.  :(
I also loaded a top of mine on the frame.  It is a simple 9 patch that I made at least 12 years ago.  It is the oldest of my tops that I have that are not quilted, so I figured I should get it out of the way.  :)
I had to laugh at myself when I put it on the frame as it was far from perfect.  :)  Glad that I have grown as a quilter over the years.

I hope to get this off the frame late tonight, but then again that might not be possible.  I have already canned some Orange Crush Jelly and now I have the canner full of pinto beans!  Hubby could eat those 24/7.  LOL!

Another one off the frame....

We woke up to a light snow this morning!  This is the view out my backdoor.
 School was canceled today.
I finally got this baby off the frame today.  Now to get the binding on.  This quilt is SOLD and the lady asked if I could make matching pillow shams out of the border fabric.  I ordered it the other day from Connecting Threads and wouldn't you know, I ordered the wrong color.  So I had to reorder the right shade this morning.  Now just waiting for that to arrive.
Here is a view of the back.
Here is my little Mammy.  She turned 14 weeks old yesterday and weighs 35.6 pounds.

Machine quilting another...

If you remember the other day I got the borders sewn on this scrap string quilt.  So I loaded it on the frame...
This is as far as I got on it...not far at all.  :)  Actually, I have this sinus/allergy/cold thing going on and I haven't accomplished much of anything today.  :(  I am quilting it with the "Dazzle" panto, one of my favorites to use.  It is a simple design but gives a lot of definition to the quilt.
As most of you know, during the summer I sew downstairs because it is just too hot upstairs and this is the machine that I used this past summer.  It is a Singer 328K Style-O-Matic.  I finally closed her up for the winter the other day.  :(  Right now she sits in the corner of my dining room.  She is all cleaned, oiled, and ready to go again for next summer.  She sews great!  Richard made the little comment that I have a machine in every room!  Well, I don't!!!  Hehehe!  I don't have one in the laundry room, Hunter's room, or the bathrooms.  :)  LOL!  Jerk!!!
I also baked a nice apple pie the other day!  It is all gone now but it was so good.  I made it using my homemade apple pie filling that I canned earlier.
Last here is Mammy!!!  She will be 13 weeks old tomorrow.  I weighed her this morning at 30 pounds exactly.  I love her to death but she is a Holy Terror!!!  Wow!  I don't know how one dog can have that much energy.  She is a handful but her feelings are so easily hurt.  :(
I'm off to take some cold meds and hopefully go to bed soon.
