Donkey is gone...

This is a post that I really didn't want to write.  Our precious cat, Donkey has passed away.  It is funny how attached we get to these little pets and how much they mean to us.
I just couldn't bring myself to do this yesterday.  Richard found him yesterday after we got back from Church.  We live on a farm and Donkey loves to go in and out of the house.  We have a little outside dog and they get along great.  Donkey loved to run, play, and catch the mice from the feed stall.  :)  So it wasn't anything out of the ordinary that he was outside.
Richard found him laying out there by the firewood pile.  He didn't look like he had been attacked or anything, he didn't have a place on him.  It wasn't even that cold out so I know he didn't freeze.  Not even sure what happened to him because he seemed fine a couple of hours before.
He will be missed so much.  I will miss the crazy ways that I always found him sleeping and I will miss him playing with my quilting stuff too.  Poor little Hunter is heartbroke, that is just kills me.

Hexagon Progress

Well I guess it is time to post again.  LOL!  This has been a crazy December!  As I mentioned in my last post that I ended up getting sick and was down for a while.  Mostly moved from the couch to the bed.  While I was down I worked on my hexagons a little.  Didn't feel like doing much else.  I worked on the hexagons and did lots of reading...while I was awake. :)

Here is my hexagon progress.  I think there are 25 of these so far
My plan is to make a hexagon quilt for my couch.  My living room is browns and creams so that is what I started with.  My couch pillows have some deep red in them so I may throw some deep red hexagons in there too.  This is a long term project.
After I started feeling better I had so much to catch up on.  I had a quilt that needed to be quilted before Christmas and it was a big one!  It measured 106 x 120.  I got that finished in two days, not too bad since I was still weak from being sick.  I was in such a hurry I didn't even take a photo of it but it was a purple and green lone star with tulip borders.  Very pretty.

Now that Christmas has past, I'm still trying to get things caught up. My house is still a wreck so that needs to be taken care of before I get started sewing again.  I'm anxious to get back to sewing again.  Mom bought me a new tv for my sewing room so I'm anxious to use it.  :)  I had a little 13 inch tv in there and it worked just fine but mom bought me a 32 inch.  Much nicer than the tiny one that I had.  :)

Hunter has a friend over tonight so they are playing video games.  Richard is watching tv in the living room and I decided that I was going to come upstairs and clean my sewing room....but you see what I am doing.  LOL!  It it horrid!

Just a few days away from New Years.  We will be spending it at Church at the watch service.  Praying out the old year and praying in the new.

Hopefully I'll have something else to post about in a few days.  Just please hang in there with me until I get my crazy life straightened out.  LOL!

First off I hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas!  We certainly did.

It has been a little over 3 weeks since I posted.  I ended up getting really sick, then once I started feeling better,I was so far behind on everything I had to rush to get caught up.  I still need a few days to get things cleaned back up and I will get back to quilting.

Flying Geese...

Shewwww...I don't know what it is but I just can't seem to get anything done.  It seems like after Thanksgiving I just shut down.  LOL!  I catch myself just sitting on the couch watching tv and doing nothing, that is not like me at all.  I am also weeks behind on reading blogs so please hang in there with me, I'll eventually catch up....hopefully.

I have been doing a little bit of sewing.  I am working on Bonnie's mystery quilt like so many others.  I can't wait to see how it turns out in the end.  Here are my geese, partially done.  I'll get them finished and pressed by Friday.  Oh and while sitting on the couch, I've been working a little on my hexagons.  Not a lot of progress to show on those.
A quick look at my mess in the sewing room.  :(  I need to spruce it up a little so I can find things easier.
Here is Leo spending some time with me in the sewing room.  He likes to nap right under feet.  He is doing a little better.  His diarrhea has finally stopped so hopefully he will start putting on more weight.  When we got him from the shelter he weighed 51.3 pounds, now he weighs 55 lbs.  Little by little he is gaining.
We finally got our tree up last night.  I have it sitting on a small table because the tree is 7ft and my ceiling is 22ft.  It still looks tiny but it is also slim so that makes it look smaller.
I guess that is all for tonight, I'll try to post something a little more interesting soon.  LOL!
