Creative Mess...

I snapped this pic last night before turning everything off and heading back downstairs.  As you can see I have a creative mess.  LOL!  I need to take a few minutes to pick up before it gets out of hand.
I still have my Courthouse Steps on the longarm.  I think I mentioned that I broke a needle and now the stitches are horrible.  :(  So I'm still trying to get that figured out.  Do you see my little step stool in front of the longarm?  LOL!  I'm only 5ft tall so when I work from the front of the longarm I have to get on the stool.  LOL!  This longarm is huge and very tall.  The height does not adjust.  When I work from the back of the longarm to do pantos, I am fine and don't have to have a stool.  LOL!

My design wall has a few different things on there.  You can see the biggest thing on there is my postage stamp blocks.  Then just odds and ends of other blocks.  Some of them are just trial blocks to see if they are something that I want to turn into a quilt.

I didn't manage to accomplish much yesterday.  I adjusted a little on the longarm, pressed some binding that needs done, and ended up piecing 4 more windmill blocks.  This brings my total to 324.  I still have a ways to go on these.
Hunter didn't have school yesterday or today due to area flooding.  In the past weeks he has been out of school a lot due to snow and ice and now it is flooding.  We got several inches of rain a few days ago.  This is the reason that they start back to school here around the first of August.  They usually miss so much during the winter.  We have a ton of hills and back roads so it makes it hard for the buses to travel when they are snow covered. This also makes it hard when trying to learn.  It's hard for him to learn and remember things when he only has school a day or two a week.  On some of the days that they miss they have to do what is called, Google Classroom.  There assignments are online.

Hopefully I can get some binding or something done today.  I really need to.  LOL!

Almost Halfway!!!

As soon as Hunter got on the school bus this morning Richard went squirrel hunting.  He didn't get anything as there are just too many leaves on the trees right now.  Anyway, I think he enjoyed just doing something besides work for a change.

While I had some time to myself (Andrew was sleeping) I did some sewing!!!

It's been a great day of sewing!  I actually felt like I accomplished something.
I worked on my Windmills mostly.  I had cut out more pieces from some fabric that I was gifted the other day.  I really needed to mix in some different fabrics.  I'll gradually add more in as I can.

I ended up piecing 34 more of the small windmill blocks.  That along with the few that I already had done was enough for 3 1/2 big blocks.  I need 5 big blocks to make a row.  Today's sewing got me almost halfway!!!  I am planning on doing 6 big blocks long and 5 across.
I also pieced lots of Tumblers as well.  I ended up getting them sewn into sets of 4 and sets of 8.  I will keep sewing them together until I get my long rows.
Supper today included Fresh Ham from my sister.  It was delicious!  Along with this, I fixed green beans, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese and cornbread.  I try to fix this stuff as healthy as possible for them.  There are also a few things like this that I can't eat.  This evening I had a tiny piece of ham, a small portion of mashed potatoes and a bunch of green beans!  :)
Richard works the next 3 days and is off the weekend.  Friday evening we have plans as it is my little nephews birthday as well as his mom's.  :)  So my nephew and SIL's birthdays are on the 21st and my precious mommy's birthday is the 22nd.  Mom will be 62.  She will never know how special she is to me.  I love her with all of my heart and I make sure that I tell her every single day.  :)

Cutting, Sewing and lots of progress...

Yesterday I did some cutting and sewing of some scraps.  This was another sleepless night as didn't even go to bed until after 4am.  Anyway...I cut out more of my pieces for Tumbler II and actually started sewing a few together just to see how I was going to like it.  I ended up sewing together a little over 100 sets of 2!!!  Not too shabby of a day!
Here I even sewed 4 together just to see...
I ended up with 8 more Windmill blocks which brings my total to 159.  I have a bunch more cut out in the colors but need to start cutting neutral pieces for it too.
Here is my cutting progress.  Several more pieces for my Windmill blocks and a bunch of pieces for my Tumbler II quilt. I forgot to take a photo of my neutrals that I cut.
I also got to spend some time with this precious girl.  :)  My sister came up for a visit.  (I say "come up" because she lives a mile away at the bottom of the hill)  Anyway, Addison is so precious and makes me laugh constantly.  She is a ball of energy.  I snapped this photo while she was on her belly on the couch.  :)  Look at those big beautiful eyes!  It's hard to believe that she will be 3 months old in a few days.
Richard is off work for the next 2 days so I'm not sure how much sewing I will get done.  It's funny that I don't get near as much accomplished when he is home.  LOL!
