My design wall is still the same. I have my 4" windmill blocks on there. I do have a few more of them pieced but I just haven't added them on there yet. I think I actually have around 60 of them finished. For the size quilt that I want, I will need 528 of them. I hope to add to these blocks this week.
I did get my 2nd turtle quilt quilted and the binding finished. It now lives with it's new owner.
I have my aunt's HUGE quilt on the frame which measures 120+ inches!!! I am getting huge skips...like 8-10 inch skips!!! I have got to figure out why! I've tried a million different things but I finally just walked away. I will go back to it with a fresh mind, that helps sometimes.
My oldest son, Andrew dressed for work! He just started his new job with Marathon Oil. I am very proud but I just worry myself sick as it can be dangerous at times. He has training for 28 days STRAIGHT before heading out on the riverways. I'm not even sure at this time where he will be headed or if he will even have cell signal when he does. It's hard to watch your babies grow up sometimes. He loves it so far and is very proud of his new job.

Here is turtle quilt #2...ready to quilt. I need to get it quilted this week and off to it's new owner.
I also have 54 windmill blocks that are my leader/ender project. I need to cut out more of them. I will probably cut more out as I am cutting out for the mystery quilt in a few weeks.
If my math is correct, I need a total of 528 of these little 4" windmills. I have 54 of them finished so I will need 474 more. This should make a quilt that measures approximately 88/96.
I've been up since 4am as Richard was getting ready to go deer hunting. I have to get Hunter up at 6:30am for school and Andrew up at 9am for work. This is his last week at this job and he is moving on to what is hopefully a career job for him with Marathon Oil. This is the same company that my mom and BIL work for. He is super excited and I am a nervous wreck. LOL! As a mother I am torn between wanting him to stay my little boy and under my protective wing but I also want him to be able to do for himself, have a career, further his education in this field, and so on. Now on the other hand....this can be a fairly dangerous job out on the water and he will be gone for 28 days at a time. So that means he will miss several holidays at home as a mom this makes me sad, but I just pray that the good Lord watches over him and keeps him safe for me.
I'm off to do some laundry before getting Hunter up and then hopefully some quilting later today.

I'm in the process of making another turtle quilt. A friend of mine asked me to make one for her so I have a third of the body done and the rest of it is cut out and ready to assemble. I love these quilts.
I can't wait to find out what my sister is having so that I can get started on baby quilts for her. :) Chantal is now 13 weeks! She had an appointment yesterday and all was well. The heartbeat was 155. Chantal's BP was fine but her pulse was 108. Her pulse usually runs fast as she has a mild heart condition and they plan on watching her very close.
A few nights ago I was thinking about baskets so I got up the next morning and pieced two. Both of these were printed off of EQ. After making them, I do like them but I probably will not do anything further with them other than make pot holders or something of that sort.
I got a new machine! Well...it was given to me by a dear friend from Church. She is making a donation quilt for the Christian school in town and I am helping her out with it. She wanted to give me this machine and I tried every way in the world not to accept it but she insisted. She still had it in the box, I think she said she had used it once or twice but liked her computerized machine much better. If my count is correct then this makes me 24 machines. :)
Here is the second baby quilt that I gave Crystal for her baby shower. Crystal is my sister's best friend. She and my sister are both pregnant. Her baby is due December 7th and Chantal's is due April 20th. Some sad news for Crystal, this is her first child and her mother is in the hospital right now and not doing very well at all. Her kidneys are starting to shut down and she is very confused. Crystal is very upset and worried about her mom right now.
Things have been a little crazy around here this past week. I've been a little under the weather with some sinus/allergy stuff. I think I am feeling a tad better this morning even though I've had less than 2 hours of sleep last night. Richard started his new job last Monday and it is day shift and his other was night shift so this has me all out of whack. I never deal with change very well. It will take me a few weeks to get back on schedule again.
Update on Hunter's arm....if you look close in the photo below you will see that it has grown back as a "slightly upward angle" that is the doctor's exact words. It is much more obvious in person. He goes back in a few days to see if it needs to be broke again and reset. He said that there is a good possibility that since he is a kid that it will straighten out with new bone growth within a year or so. He also said that if he was an adult, it would have to be reset, no questions asked. So I'm praying for good news when he goes back in a few days.
Time to get Hunter up for school and then I am heading back to bed for a few hours...

I finally got my turtle quilt top ready to quilt. I love it!!! This is for my dear friend, Kay. She is giving this as a gift for her 1st great grandson. :) She picked out the fabrics and I sewed it together. A cute pattern for a little boy.
I love how it turned out and I will probably make another one as everyone around here is having babies. :)
It is a very simple pattern, just squares and half square triangles but for some reason I messed it up twice. First it was the head that I had messed up and then tonight I realized that I had the shell messed up. I think I need to start paying more attention. I've just had a lot on my mind lately. So I had to quickly pick it out and redo it.
I also finished this top too. It is hard to see in the photo but it has white strips between the stacked coins and a white border. I'll show the quilt in color after I give it as a gift. :)
I have also been working on a few burp cloths for my sister. :)
Finished up a few more of my hexies. I think I have a little over 90 of them right now.
Before I close, please remember Richard in your prayers. He has to go for some testing soon and I'm praying that all is well.
