My Non-Exciting Wednesday!!

Not alot went on the quilting front today!! Had to make another trip into town today, had to make a second trip to the grocery store. The boys are eating me out of house and home since they are out of school. Anyway, come home and I took a nap on the couch and woke up when Richard got home. We went out to my Mom's house and Richard, Andrew, Chantal and Crystal (her best friend) cut the grass. Mom will be home on the 20th and it really needed to be cut. It is hard for Chantal to cut it herself. So after we came back home, had dinner, and Richard went on to bed and I.......took another nap on the couch! :)

After my second nap, Chantal came out for a few minutes and we were outside I snapped some photos of her. She will kill me for putting these on here, since she doesn't exactly look her best...she had been cutting the grass. :) But that is what sisters do!!!

And here she is sitting on the bench with Andrew. As you can see Andrew had another one of his roosters out. He loves them, we are in the process of building another chicken coop for them. I think Chantal had been talking to mom on her cell, and yes, she is smoking! :( She is 23 and smokes, I tease her all of the time, that I don't smoke because someday I will need to give her a lung!
And while I was out I snapped another photo of some flowers. I have a few of these and they are over my head! Which I guess isn't really saying much considering I'm only 5ft tall.

After all that, feeling depressed because I didn't get any sewing done, I decided I needed to sew alittle before the day was over, so I managed to make another hat.
I also got out my 2 1/2 in scrap squares so that I can work some more on my quilt. I'm not sure yet what exactly I will be doing. Right now I am sewing them into 9 patches and plan on making some sort of Irish Chain. I'm just not sure if it will be a single, double, triple, or some other Irish Chain...Heck, the rate I'm going it may turn in to something else completely!!! :) Hopefully, I can post a photo of what I have done so far tomorrow.
Well, it is now 12:42am and I think I will head to bed and read until I fall asleep...

My Orange Crush and Hats

Well, the thunderstorms have finally hit us here in Eastern Kentucky! Last night around 2am Andrew and I were outside trying to move a couple of the horses to better shelter before the storm hit. Richard called to tell me that they were giving severe storm warnings for us. Our electric usually goes off almost every time that it rains but for some reason it didn't last night.

Anyway, this morning I sewed my Orange Crush together!!! Now I just need to add borders. I think I will just put a plain border on it, but I'm not sure which color I will use yet...

Then in the afternoon, I made these two welder caps for Richard and Hunter, I still need to do Andrew's. They love to wear these things so I bought the pattern to make them some. And the best thing about it is they are reversible! But I made these out of the same fabric on both sides since they were my first ones and I was afraid I would screw them up!!!
I have to run into town in the morning and then follow my sister to drop her car off at the garage to have some work done on it. Hunter has decided he wants to go to the 6 days of Summer School!!! Can you believe that??? The kid that hates school and threatened to drop out of kindergarten wants to go to Summer School!!! Of course he doesn't have to go for his class it is optional and all they will be doing is mostly playing. I guess we will have to wait and see if he makes it all 6 days!!!! I bet he doesn't!!!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Not alot of sewing going on here today! I've been sitting here THINKING about cleaning off my sewing table, but I'm feeling a little lazy... It is so hot here today, high 90's!!! We have AC but I keep going out to make sure the horses have plenty of water to drink. We have a couple up in the stalls that we have to water the others can get to the creek to drink.

I did do a little bit of hand quilting on my quilt, but then I got so sleepy that I could barely hold my eyes open so I had to take a nap. Early this morning, I drove in to town to take Richard's 88 yr old Grandmother so fresh lettuce and green onions from our garden.

Since I don't have any quilty photos to show you today, I will show you some photos of a few of my flowers that I took at the edge of dark last night...

That's about all that I have for today, hopefully, tomorrow's post will be more interesting!!!
