New baby chicks and Labels

As I said the other day, it is Spring here on the farm! We had a new foal born on Friday and yesterday evening, look what I found out in the weeds next to the barn lot. New baby chicks! Only 2 of them but it was exciting because I did not know that we had a hen setting. My chickens run loose on the farm so I didn't know one was setting on eggs. Andrew keeps his chickens in the chicken house.

Richard has worked most of the day today disking the gardens. I have been out and about most of the day. Just walking around the farm and I did take a little ride on Ole Jim, the mule. I rode around the fence lines to check for repairs. It was so nice!

Last night and this morning, I worked on some quilt labels. I sewed on 5 of them. These were gifts from my new friend, Jacky!
Hopefully tonight after we all settle in for the evening I can sew some borders on a few tops that need them. Just simple straight borders so that should not take too long.

Sounds like you are enjoying the Spring weather as much as we are in Ohio. The baby quilt is gorgeous that you are making and all those babies are so exciting. Have a good week!

Cute chicks!

Labels, ahh, a kick in the pants reminder for me to sew on the label I've had sitting around for 10 months...

It looks beautiful there at your farm! Would love to live near you so I could come and play with that new baby (the foal). I keep telling my DH I want 'critters'. :) He's a city boy and thinks I've lost my mind! LOL Your recent quilt finish is just GOREGOUS! I LOVE those bright stars! Good job, girl!

Fluffy baby chicks...there's nothing cuter.

I have some labels kinda like yours. I should get them out and use them! Mine were also a gift from a friend.
