A Day With Mom...

I spent most of the day with mom! We had a great day, but now I am paying for it, my legs hurt and my hips burn! :( She picked me up around 9am and we headed to town. First we stopped and had a late breakfast at Lisa's Front Porch. A very yummy little restaurant. Then we relaxed with a hot cup of coffee. We had several stops but most of the time I sat in the car.....until we stopped at Walmart! Oh my, I got plenty of exercise in there! Good thing I had the shopping cart to hold on to, that really helped me with walking. Mom kept asking if I was okay and I said that I was but boy when I got home I was hurting. But I guess it was really good for me anyway. We had a great day and I always enjoy spending time with her.

After she dropped me back off at the house I quickly changed clothes and got ready for a nap. I really needed to stretch out in that bed. Then she called and said she was on her way back to my house. The UPS truck had ran and she had ordered something for me and it was delivered. So this is what I got....A Jim Shore Snowman!!!! I had mentioned before that I would like to start collecting some of the Jim Shore things so she bought me my first one. This one plays "Deck The Halls" I really like it!

So after she left, I hit the bed for a few hours and set the alarm on my cell to get up about 10 minutes before the school bus ran! Needless to say, we only had frozen pizza for supper! :)

Tonight I have been sewing a little bit of binding down on another quilt but I think I will head off to bed soon. I've got to get plenty of rest for the weekend! Hunter has "Trick-or-Treat" Saturday evening. I do plan on going with him. Richard is going too so I can stay in the car if I start hurting too bad.

We have a store in our town, Shepherd Hills, that has a lot of Jim Shore. Most of it is older, but they have it half price and now they are having a liquidation sale and it's another 30% off. I'm not sure if they have any snowmen left. The one you got is so cute! I love how he puts so much detail in them and they are really "quilty". Hope you get to feeling better soon. Glad you're back blogging again.

I am happy to hear you are doing better, a trip around walmart even wears me out and I have 2 good legs!! I really enjoy your blog. I used to live in KY myself, in Bowling Green. Have a good night, get some rest. God Bless

Wow you are really doing good. I still have to drive the little scooter whenever my daughter takes me to the store. It's just too much for me to do that much walking. Sounds like you had a really nice day.

I'm glad to hear you're out and about - and that you're "burning." That sounds mean for me to say, but as someone who works out (not as much as I should), that's a good sign. That means that you're building new muscles, and that you're pushing your body to new limits. It's painful, trust me I know, but it's a good thing. Your goal should be to get to that point every day. :)

I am so glad you got out. I am sure that walk around Walmart did you so much good.

Your mom is a doll to start your collection for you. I am sure this is the first of many that will adorn your new house.

Glad you got out of the house and got to spend some time with your Mom. Those are always fun days. Hope the pain is easing off each day. I'm so glad you are back to blogging and sewing, I love seeing what you make and hearing all about your life and family.
Oh- we have 'easy' dinner nights too. I think all Mom's should get a night off from cooking occasionally. Hugs.

Glad to hear that you got out and walked! I'm sure you were tired, but that is exactly what you need! And a cute snowman to boot! :)
