Donkey is gone...

This is a post that I really didn't want to write.  Our precious cat, Donkey has passed away.  It is funny how attached we get to these little pets and how much they mean to us.
I just couldn't bring myself to do this yesterday.  Richard found him yesterday after we got back from Church.  We live on a farm and Donkey loves to go in and out of the house.  We have a little outside dog and they get along great.  Donkey loved to run, play, and catch the mice from the feed stall.  :)  So it wasn't anything out of the ordinary that he was outside.
Richard found him laying out there by the firewood pile.  He didn't look like he had been attacked or anything, he didn't have a place on him.  It wasn't even that cold out so I know he didn't freeze.  Not even sure what happened to him because he seemed fine a couple of hours before.
He will be missed so much.  I will miss the crazy ways that I always found him sleeping and I will miss him playing with my quilting stuff too.  Poor little Hunter is heartbroke, that is just kills me.
Poor little Hunter is heartbroke, that just kills me. He was such a good cat....

Oh No! I am so sorry Kristie. Give Hunter a big hug for me. I was a mess when I had to put my Ollie down back in 2004 - 2 days of crying from me. He was my baby. Hugs to you all and I hope remembering him in all your pictures will bring smiles to your faces.

So sorry for the loss of your Donkey. I'm a "quiet" blog reader, but have followed for a while and know there will be an empty place in your house now. Gone but not forgotten.

So, so sorry to hear about Donkey - I just lost my CC kitty a little over a month ago, so I certainly understand the hole it leaves in your heart. Hugs and prayers to you.

So sorry, Kristie. I know that Donkey was quite the character and I have read so many of your posts with Donkey doing one crazy thing or another. Love on Hunter for us!

I'm so sorry, Kristie. I know how apprehensive you were about getting him in the beginning, but then how he found a huge place in your heart. Give Hunter extra hugs from all of us. Donkey loved you too.

Oh Kristy,

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when you first got Donkey. I used to love reading about his adventures. Donkey is the reason I adopted my first cat.

Hugs to you and your family, I am so, so sorry.

Yes, pets do become family members and wiggle their way into our hearts. So sorry for your loss. Donkey was a beautiful kitty and he will live on in your memories.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a treasured pet. Lost our beagle this summer and I still have not been able to blog about it. Hope your memories will bring you comfort.

I really do know how you feel; my kitty was killed by dogs, two years ago, and the emptiness is still with me. I have barn cats, but none that will let me pick them up and snuggle with them.

So sorry to hear about Donkey. It is so hard to lose a special pet. My Squeaker looks like your Donkey and has a hold on my heart. I'll be thinking of you and Hunter.

Oh Kristie, I am so sorry for all of you. They do leave their little paw prints all over our hearts. It's especially tough for those little people.

I am so sorry. We do get attached to those fur babies. I know I do. Seeing our kids hurting is the worst.
What a cruel ending to the year for you.

Sounds like Donkey was outside doing something he loved.
