Yesterday I worked a little on my Dear Jane and then last night I worked on my Civil War Diary Quilt. I love this quilt and find the paper piecing quite fun! They are small blocks, only 6 inches but seem quite large after working on the Dear Jane blocks.
This first block is called Gloomy Prospects.
This is "Robbers"
These two blocks make me a total of 43 blocks! 43 down and 78 more to go!!!!! I love the Civil War fabrics that I am doing these quilts in. The Civil War Diary quilt, Dear Jane and soon the Civil War Love Letters quilt will also be done in Civil War Repro fabrics. I am thinking that when I start the Love Letters quilt I will do it in repro browns and pinks...maybe. I found a wonderful website that sells tons of reproduction fabrics and at really good prices. It is called Quiltbook.com I have put my order in for several pieces.
Since Hunters birthday party is this weekend and I sew at my dining table, I will have to put my machine and stuff up for a few days. He will be having a friend stay over Saturday night so my plan is to get a few of the applique Dear Jane blocks ready to do. That way I can sit around with the family and also do some handwork. A few blocks won't be too messy.

You've been busy - I love civil war repro. fabrics - but am not sure taht I am brave enough to tackle these quilts - maybe 1 day. I can't wait to see your love letters blocks when you get around to it.

Hi Kristie,
Guess what - I have just received an email from Rosemary to say there are two lots of books and CD's on CWLL on the way for a friend Pat and I. Thank you for your inspiration - now there will be three Aussies, Julia(Camille's Place), Pat and I doing the LL. We all have stacks of beautiful repro fabrics. What fun - 'bye - Lurline.
Your blocks look great! I'm sure you'll have fun with this quilt!
Love how the blocks are coming together. I think you would beat the girls in the July quilting challenge if you were in on it! Thanks for the website link, I'll check it out since I'll eventually want to try the civil war one.... too many things on my 'wish' list....
I have the same problem with sewing at the table... eventually you have to put it away.... (I keep telling the kids that eating is overrated, but they just won't give it up ...LOL)
I think your civil war fabrics are so beautiful. You are very organized making the applique blocks ready.
These blocks are looking great. More than a 1/3 done on the civil war blocks.
Looking great...
Doing a quilt in browns and pinks will be stunning...I can hardly wait.
