Found another UFO!

Today has just been another regular day on the Layne farm. Got Richard off to work at midnight, got up at 7am did the feeding, cleaned the house and fixed breakfast, lunch and supper. I did clean off my sewing table, it was a mess! As I was cleaning today I found a bag in the cabinet with one of my UFO's in it. I have almost half of it together and more of it cut out, so I do think I will finish it. These rows are not sewn together I just have them laying there. It is completely wrinkled so I will have to iron it too. But at least when I finish it, it will be one more out of the way. I actually don't even remember starting it and I don't even remember what it is called.

Richard got home around 4pm and he started sawing. Our neighbor has a drilling company and drills gas and oil wells. He needed 2 LARGE blocks to use for setting up one of the rigs. He needed them 20x20x5 inches. So I had to help Richard load this butt-cut on the mill, it was just too hard for one person to handle alone. While we were down at the sawmill Hunter decided he was going to "NINJA TRAIN" as he says. So I had to take a photo of him. Don't pay any attention to how he is dressed, there is a story behind it. See....I sorted through his clothes that were too small and had them in a bag to give to my sister for a yard sale. Hunter has a FIT any time you try to get rid of anything so he decided he would try to get one last wear out of them. And the boots...well...he always wears them. Trust me he has plenty of shoes but he just loves his cowboy boots, no matter how hot outside it is. And here is a photo of Rogjo, my rooster. Henrietta is around somewhere. He is huge and loves to stay up on the corral fence. I think he has such pretty colors on him.

Anyway, that is about all that went on today. I will probably try to iron a little bit on my quilt top.

That rooster is colorful...does he crow much and let the hens know who is boss?

I like the quilt. Since you don't know what it is called you can name it. Hunter is so cute! I have a grandson that wore out a number of pairs of cowboy boots when he was that age. It didn't matter how hot it was and he wore them without socks half the time. I bet it took Richard a while to cut that. Your rooster is so pretty. I like roosters. I have some embroidery designs of roosters that I have sewn out on blue jeans to make a quilt sometime. Takes a long time to sew them cause they have lots of colors in them.

When I was really little all I wore all the time was cowboy boots too. The quilt top was such a nice find and now you can finish it off. It sounds like you had a great day.

Gemma is the same. She won't get rid of anything. She's burstingat the seams in one of her tops but she refuses to part with it.

Your rooster is gorgeous. haven't they got the most glorious colours on them.

love and hugsxxx

I love that photo of Hunter :) It is hard to control what they want to wear. It can be too hot, cold or small.

Love the star quilt, I used that pattern (or one VERY similar) as a signature quilt for my wedding. (I used the Fons & Porter Layout.)

Great quilt top! Hunter just looks like a kid! Tell him we all love the boots! That's a beautiful rooster and sawing that wood had to be a big job. Ya know, that fence the rooster is on would make a beautiful place to take quilt photos....just a thought....Regina

Love the quilt and Hunter is to cute. Isn't that your self-expression side coming out when you dress yourself and Mom says you can't leave the yard dressed like that?? Love the rooster. I just got chickens, but my rooster ended up being a white rock. Maybe next year I will get a really colorful one. Sounds like you had a busy day.

I love the quilt. If you figure out the pattern let me know! Joe is always dressed so that he is not allowed to leave the yard (he's colorblind so he never matches! LOL!). And your rooster is gorgeous!

I have that pattern somewhere- if I find it I will tell you what it is. I think it was in a magazine or a book I have.
