This is my first time participating in the "Design Wall Monday" So here we go.....
Up first, I made two more Scrappy Star blocks for the month of September. The two on top are the new ones. We are making 2 blocks a month and I am doing mine completely from scraps except for the background fabric and it is just some that I've had in my stash for a long time and want to us it up. These blocks work great for your precut 2.5" and 3.5" squares. By looking at this photo, it looks like I need to dig deeper in the tub and use a few different fabrics so that all of my blocks will not look the same! :)
Also on my wall, is my first block of the Grandmother's Choice block of the week. The photo is a little blurry but at least I got the first block finished. This quilt will also be made from my scraps and stash, using greens and purples.
Here is the view out of my kitchen door yesterday evening, the storm was rolling in. It is still raining on and off this morning and is very humid. UGH!
Later this evening, I will probably work a little more on my string blocks that I posted in the last post. I have started sewing the sashing strips on and I hope to get the top done soon. I ended up using a soft yellow for the sashings and I will probably also use that for a small border too.

Beautiful blocks Kristie and I hope you stay safe!
Your star blocks look great! And I agree...the scrappier, the better! :0)
Yikes! Those scrappy star blocks are calling my name! :) And your grandmother;s choice is lovely - I would be in trouble using green and purple. While my green box is overflowing, I think I have exactly 3 pieces of purple in my stash. Rain. Sigh. Oh what I wouldn't give for rain...lots of rain.
Love those stars! I am sewing on some pillowcases today!
Love the scrappy stars! I be looking forward to seeing the Grandmother's Choice quilt develops - pretty colors!
Love your gc block! Great color choice. Those stars are very pretty in the scrappy look. Hope the storm clouds leave you soon.
Oh, I keep seeing those scrappy stars and each time my resistance weakens a little more.
And green and purple--I have heard that Ms. Brackman is recommending those colors--I have both in abundance and have already made a few purple and green quilts. This is just too tempting. I am going to go work on a UFO before I start something new. : )
Those blocks are a great way to stash bust. They look great!
