Our Day Of ICE

Lots of Ice here in Kentucky! We are stuck here on Top Of The World!!! But that is just fine we are having lots of great family time! It is solid ice outside and VERY slick! Here is a video of the boys playing around today. They slid down the driveway as you can see it was hard for them to stand up. That is Andrew sliding down the hill and Hunter is the one that keeps falling....

Here is another video that was taken at the top of my driveway. You don't even make a footprint when you walk! Richard had to help me up the driveway and we had to dig our heels in to get up there! And on the way down, Richard was trying to help me, I started sliding and could not stop! I started laughing so hard, I wet my pants!!! :) I know that you all wanted to know that!

Not a lot of sewing going on here today! I did finish my binding on my Hole In The Barndoor. So glad to have that done. I just love doing binding! But I may change my mind after I do the binding on the other 73 quilt tops! :)

And I worked a little on my handquilting! As you can see Donkey loves it! I have about 2/3 of it done. I can't wait to have it done too.
Now we are just sitting around watching some tv! Waiting for the electric to go off at anytime! It always does when we get ice! :( Thank goodness for the fireplace!

I love your quilt and I'd love to send you some bindings to do! Your driveway does look like a sheet of ice!! I'd liked to have seen a video of you climbing that driveway, you made me laugh!

You have ice loved seeing the video of the boys having so much fun... guess you are getting used to your new video camera now.

We have ice...I did not get out - except about 4 steps on the back patio and 2 or 3 steps on the front porch...too cold and slick. The temperature is getting down to 14 tonight -so there will not be any thawing.

Be careful.

Looks like fun! We didn't get any ice, just starting to get snow tonight. We could get up to a foot though. Love those videos!

Kristie,
I loved seeing your quilts. They look wonderful! I also loved the videos of the boys and your icy driveway. Keep warm, and don't break any bones on that ice. It does look nasty!
Blessings,
Michelle

Wow!! Hard to believe there is ice somehwere when we are so hot and wet! the wet season has come in full force here. school started today too...so I am really mentally tired. It must be nice to snuggle under quilts while we swelter, gggg.
Cheers
Yvonne

I haven't heard of many quilters enjoying applying binding...LOL I don't mind it whatsoever, even though I'm sure I do it the unconventional way..by machine. Your "Hole in the Barndoor" is so pretty. You amaze me how much you get done. I'm sure Donkey helps though..LOL

Have a wonderful day and hopefully that ice melts somewhat.

Hi Kristie, I love your quilts. I can hardly wait to see the completed hand quilted one. I enjoy sewing binding on too. I have a little rooster wall quilt that is ready for binding today. I got a good smile out of seeing your boys have so much fun. I miss those days since all of our kids are grown and out on their own. Boy that driveway does look slick. Sure hope you don't lose power. Stay safe and warm. Winona

I loved your videos, the boys look like they are having so much fun. I don't know what to say about the ice - don't think I've ever seen it like that around here. It looks so thick. Great quilt!! Hope you are still with electricity!!

OOh it looks so cold. And to be stranded on your lovely farm made me want to be there. For some reason I have an idealistic romantic feeling about being stranded in on the farm, battling the elements but coming out on top....hmmm maybe Ive read too many Little house on the prairie books to the girls!!
Still I hope you are comfy and warm...wish I could send a little of this scorching heat to you!!

Ice is soooo scary. Snow is bad enough, but ice is crippling. I love the quilt you're hand quilting. Donkey looks so comfortable!
