Late Night Sewing

Here it is 12:30am and I am up sewing. I was so sleepy and everyone of us went to bed at 9pm. A little after 10pm the phone rings...Normally people don't call my house that late because they all know that hubby and the boys are in the bed by 9pm through the week. So I automatically think something is wrong, I jump up and answer the phone, too sleepy to see the caller ID. All I hear is loud music and nobody answers. I finally get my eyes to adjust so that I can see the caller ID and it was Andrew's first cousin on his dad's side! :( Okay now this kid is 11 and calls all the time to talk to Andrew which is fine, but even Andrew has told him not to call after 9pm because he goes to bed. This boy is homeschooled so he doesn't get up as early as mine do. So anyway, I try to go back to sleep, 15 minutes later the phone rings again, samething....loud music and no answer. 10minutes after that he calls again!!! So needless to say, in the morning, I will be calling his mommy to nicely ask her for him not to call so late, or at least say something when I answer. These are really good people and I know he is just a kid, but I was sleepy!!! :)

So after all of that is done, the dogs outside start barking! Now through all of this, nobody wakes up but me! :( I jump out of bed to see why they are barking, thinking it may be my little Jazz! I have been putting off posting this thinking that he might come back home. Do you remember me posting about our little Yorkie? Well....he has been gone for 3 days now and we are all heartbroken. I let him outside to pee the other day and one of our outside dogs, Ida Belle (lab/Shepard mix) was in heat. So naturally the little man that he thinks he is, he went right after her. So after chasing him around the house fifty times, I just left him out to play for a few minutes. After about 20 minutes I went back out to get him and he and Ida Belle could not be found. Now remember we live in the country so I wasn't too worried at first. I called and called he didn't come. When Richard and the boys got home they looked for him too! Richard even drove down to the blacktop road to ask about him.

So now it has been 3 days and no sign of either one of them. My boys are heartbroken! Andrew even cried and he thinks he is too big to do that. Hunter has cried himself to sleep every night because Jazz slept with him every night. Honestly, I know he is not coming back. Either someone has picked him up, because he weighed less than 4 lbs and those tiny ones are very expensive or he has died. It has been too cold at night for him to survive out like that with him so little. :(

Anyway needless to say, I can't go back to sleep! So I have been doing some mindless sewing. I have finished 30+ nine patches from scraps!
I have a quilt planned for these. I have been sewing them from scraps and when I get enough of them done, I will piece the top. I still need a bunch of them, so I will put these away until I get more scraps ready to sew.

Back to sewing....

Hugs for all of the family, the sleepy ones and the ones missing their furry friend. I hope the wee one is found soon.

Sorry to hear about Jazz but maybe he found a hallow in a tree and is keeping himself warm...who knows maybe he'll turn up after he gets his wild oats sewn.

Oh Kristie, Jim being sick and now the loss of Jazz...lots of sick to your stomach feelings going on.

I so agree about having a phone call late at night...yes, call his Mother and voice your opinion.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Kristie,
I guess I'm behind in posts. I missed this one somehow. I am sorry about Jazz and I'm sorry you all have been going through so much lately with pets. How is Ole Jim?

I also hope you got the late night phone calls stopped.
take care,
Michelle

I sure hope Jazz makes it back home. If he made it out to 32 someone has picked him up cause he is so cute. We experienced late night phone calls so much that Lionel wired the phones so he could unhook all phones at night except the one in our bedroom. We still have a problem with the line having a short in it and phone going out sometimes. LOL
