I thought I would shit my pants. Of course, I was home alone and Richards cell phone is broke. So I sat there most of the day watching it. He crawled back and forth around my baskets on top of my cabinets and back down on top of the refrigerator. Then I lost him...Richard got home about 3 hours later and I was freaking out. He looked at my photos that I took and said it was just a harmless black snake. Well, I don't care what kind I don't want it in my house. Long story short, we never found it again.....I told Richard, my luck it will crawl in the bed with me tonight.
The other reason that I didn't get any sewing done was my Grandmother. She has been very sick over the years and has had alot of heart problems. Got the call early this morning that she was in the hospital with congestive heart failure. In January, she had a stint put in and it had blocked again, so they had to go in and redo that. They said they were not sure how long that would last. My mom is out of town this week and doesn't have good cell service where she is. We tried and tried to get ahold of her and then finally around 3pm she called my sister, because she just then had signal. When she called she didn't know anything was wrong. Chantal told her and she got so upset. So started blaming herself because she wasn't home, but things like that happen and there is nothing that can be done. She felt bad because she had surgery and she didn't even know about it. I talked to my grandma a little while ago and she said she was doing okay and still had to lay still for 3 more hours...

Ohh my God! I am not afraid of snakes but I would not want that in my house! I'm glad it's gone but like you I would ask myself where is it... However it got in, I hope it went out and doesn't come back.

OHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Kristie, you are SOOOOOooooooooooooo brave. I couldn't have stayed in the house, and you could have heard me scream in the next county!
I think of the bible....
Then God said to the snake: "Because you did this, you will be the only one of all animals that is cursed, as long as you live, you will always crawl on your belly and you will only eat dirt. And from now on, you and a woman will be enemies to each other and also your children and the children of women will be enemies. You will try to bite her heel, but she will step on your head and crush it."
They say, that is why we are afraid of snakes. It is instinctive. I'm glad you were not as scared as I would have been. I would not have been able to stay home today, like you did. I hope by now you have found where he came in, and he left. I did some research, and found that snakes need heat to survive, so hopefully, he went back out in the hot sun.
Bless you sweetie....you are a brave one! Michelle
Kristie,
I got sidetracked with your snake. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope she gets to feeling better soon, but I know that congestive heart failure is not an easy thing. Spend time with her when you can, and let her know you love her.
You've had quite a stressful day. I do hope tomorrow is better...at least it's shopping day and you won't have to stay home all day!
Hugs,
Michelle
OMG I wouldn't have hung around to take it's picture. I would have been sitting outside waiting for help. To me it looked like a good sized snake and I don't care if it is harmless it belongs outside far away.
I was sorry to hear about your Grandma I just hope that all goes well and she makes a speedy recovery. A few extra prayers will go her way.
Let's just hope Mr Snake is back out the way he came in. Maybe he's hiding in the refrigerator motor it's nice and warm in there.
OMG! I can't believe you stayed in the house! You would have heard me screaming from VT if I ever found a snake in my house and I would hightail it out of there ASAP! I was walking barefoot in the back yard to check on the hummingbird feeder this summer and a blue/black snake slithered right in front of me, slightly on my foot. Hubby was mowing the lawn a little ways away and he was laughing so hard at my reaction. I screamed, jumped and ran back up to the deck. Thank goodness we only have 'harmless' snakes in Vermont, no poison ones but still, I prefer they stay away from me!
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope she is doing ok. Give your Mom a hug when she gets back.

Wow, you're brave! I like you though would have watched him wanting to know where he was going to be going. I can't believe you lost sight of him!! I would have screamed everytime I saw him move though.
Speaking of your mom, you never said how her trip into Paducha went. Did she come home with awesome goodies?
I'll be keeping your grandma in my thoughts. This is such scary stuff and so reminiciant of my Grandma's heart attacks earlier this year. Keep us posted.
Snakes are really scarry.dont have many around here but some here in South Africa are very dangerous.
