A Day At The Quilt Show!

I have had a very nice day today! My Aunt Deb and I went to the Big Sandy Quilt Show this morning. I did not enter any quilts this year but had a wonderful time. Wouldn't you know, I took my camera but forgot it in the car! There were some very beautiful quilts! I love going to shows, I find it very inspiring! Deb is my mom's sister, and she is a quilter! I am closer to her than any of the others so it was very nice to get to spend the day with her. Hunter went with us too.

I picked up more Civil War reproductions while I was up there! Some of them I already had from last time but I bought them anyway just because I liked them. But most of them are ones that I didn't have. I bought 18 Civil War FQ's today!

I also bought these two sets of FQ's.

I bought all of the fabric from the WV Quilts booth. She also gave me 30% off because I had a coupon so in all I bought 28 fat quarters for $34! I thought that was a great price!

After leaving the quilt show we drove on up to the bookstore that I always go to. Deb had never been and wanted to look at their quilt books because I had bought some there last time very cheap. This is what I picked up there for $3 on the clearance shelf!

After that we ran through the drive thru at McDonalds and left for home. Richard worked on the house while I was gone. I was worried about him being there by himself and being up on the second story. When I got back home he was just fine, I just worry too much. He worked on putting the sub floor down on the second story.

From where I was standing I couldn't get all of the house in the photo but you get the idea of it. the top floor section on the right side of the front door will be my sewing room. It is hard to tell size in a photo but it will be 20 x 20 but by the time I get all of my stuff in there I still won't have much room. But it will be better than what I have right now...I sew at my kitchen table.

Anyway, that has been my day so far. I am going to clean the house up a little and try to sew some tonight!!!

Sounds like you had a great day - I LOVE your 2 fat quarter packs. Beautiful fabrics. I wish I had a family member who quilted too - they all think I'm mad although they love the quilts I make for them.

What a great day you had. Love the FQ packs too. I'm sure you are dreaming of the day your new sewing room will be finished so you can move into it. I have gone from the kitchen table to a corner in the bedroom to a very small bedroom to my current room, 18 x 22 ft. I love it but we have our house up for sale and will be downsizing. But, I will still get the spare bedroom to quilt in.

Glad Hunter is doing well.

What a great day for you! I think those fq's were a real deal, too! Glad Richard was careful while you were gone...I always worry too much too...

Wow what a fun day and beautiful fabric. Thank you for sharing the pictures of the house! How wonderful to have such a nice sewing room. My room is an okay size but we have a Cape Cod and the walls slant so it reduces the amount of usable area in the room.

Sounds like you had a great day. I love the FQ packs you bought.

If Richard is anything like Mal he probably got a lot more done on his own that with you and Hunter being there
