Some Much Needed Good News!

Here are my latest blocks on my Nearly Insane quilt! I am doing it in blues! Of course I don't have enough blues, well I am using blue on blue or blues and creams so it will take me a while to collect them. My friend Nancy from VA sent me some blues I used them on the last few blocks, she really sent me some nice fabrics I still have more to use. I was really getting tired of my Love Letter quilt, I know I was so close to finishing the blocks, I only need 20 more and I will have them all done. I was just tired of seeing so many pinks and browns, but I will get back to that in a week or two. And I would like to work a little more on my diagonal nine patch too.

Yesterday, my SIL went to the hospital! The baby is due next month but she was showing some signs and having pains about 3 minutes apart. She has had both of the other kids a little early too. Anyway, they sent her home, told her to eat and rest up that she would probably be back at the hospital last night. So I let Richard take Hunter to football practice and I waited by the phone. But of course when you are waiting for something like that nothing happens. Chantal talked to my brother this morning and he said she seemed to be fine right now. So I guess we just sit and wait!! And lazy me don't have the baby quilt finished because I thought I still had another month to quilt it! The top is finished but that is it. I think I will just tie it and bind it and call it done. Oh by the way....IT IS A BOY!!!

Today is my sister's birthday! She turned 24! I meant to dig out a baby photo of her but just didn't get to it. Mom got off work today and Chantal met her in town and they left out for Ashland and Huntington to do some birthday shopping. Oh and while Chantal was waiting for mom she called me to tell me that she had done something for herself on her birthday....SHE PAID HER LAST CAR PAYMENT!!! I think that is great that she is so young, has a good job and can payoff a new car, actually it is a Ford Escape. I am very proud of her!!!! She is off work for a few days because the doctor that she works for is on a trip to Rome. Oh and my SIL that is having the baby, she works at the same place. Anyway here is my pretty little sister....

I have her cake baked and waiting for her and mom to get home!!! I baked it since mom wasn't sure what time she would get off of the boat.

Oh late last night, I made Richard a new hat!!!! I didn't take a photo of it but is is another welding cap, but this one is red bandana fabric. I made it for him to wear to his NEW JOB!!!!!!! Yep!!! Richard got another job!!!!!! Thank God for it, we had been praying for something to come along. He had been out of work for about 6wks! Which we had been cutting timber and cutting railroad ties to make ends meet, so I can honestly say he is not at all lazy!!! If you have been reading my previous post you can see how busy he has been, I must say that I am very proud of him!!! Oh, his job....he will be driving a coal truck, the same thing that he did before but just for a diffent company!!!!! It will take us a couple of months to get everything back on track but it sure takes alot of stress off of us. So we are doing the "happy dance" here on the Layne farm!!!!!

Congrats on Richard's new job. I hope John has as much luck when the company he's currently working for closes up in December to move to Mexico and puts everyone to the street.

Never a dull moment, that's for sure!!!

So many things to be thankful for is happening at the Layne farm. So a happy dance is certainly in order.

Enjoy the time with your Mother, celebrate Chantel's birthday, and wait patiently for the new baby boy.

The blues and white are going to make a beautiful quilt..just don't see how you do it so perfectly.

Hugs from here,

Amelia
