Hunter...

If you have read my blog for a while you will know that I am a very religious person and believe in the power of prayer.  I know that there are so many kids that are worse off but my son, Hunter is having a few health issues that I need your prayers for.

Hunter has been having some testing done and we found out a couple of things.  First off, he is a little bit anemic.  Nothing too out of control but enough that something needs to be done about it.  This morning we got the results of his A1C and he is borderline diabetic, he is 2/10 of a point from being one and that is just too close not to take control of it now!!!  So over the next few weeks he has several appointments, meanwhile his whole diet has to change.
Also after several appointments with his podiatrist that has NOT worked out for him, he is being sent to Shriner's Hospital in Lexington, KY in a couple of weeks.  Hopefully, he can get the help that he needs there so that we can get him back to being active again.  Exercise will help with his other health issues but right now he can't stand to walk much at all.  If you remember last year he was in a boot and on crutches for a few months and things haven't got much better for him.  Not to make it sound like he can't stand to walk because he can, but he can't stay on his feet like a lot of kids his age.  For example, tomorrow he wants to go in town and watch the parade.  He may be fine while there but by the time we get home he will be down the rest of the night with pain, swelling, ice packs...etc.  The same thing happens when we go to the grocery store, he will be on his feet for an hour and will be down the rest of the evening.  Not a good thing for a 12 yr old.

As a mother it makes me sad that he has to deal with this stuff and the pain with his feet.  I just wish that I could snap my fingers and make it all better for him.  I may not be able to do that but I know that the Lord can help him.
