More Catch Up!

Yesterday was a bad day for us. I had a doctor appointment yesterday morning, nothing major just a check up for blood pressure. One the way home I followed the ambulance out but it had gone on past my turn off for the house. You always wonder when you see one, if they are going after someone that you know.

So I was home about 15 minutes when my sister calls me. She works at a doctors office so they had got a call from the ER for the doctor. They had Hunter's school on lockdown! Living in a very small community this school has kindergarden thru the 8th grade in it. Several of the 5th graders were sick. Breaking out in a bad rash, vomiting, and trouble breathing. It later had spread to some of the other classes. I couldn't pick up my kid and I couldn't find anything out about him. I felt so helpless! They wouldn't let you anywhere near the school. The had several ambulances, medical teams, and chemical people there. The news showed them walking around in their little space suit looking things. The hospital was even on lockdown at one point. The set up a tent outside the back emergency entrance for a decamination room. The bad part is some of these parents didn't even know that their kids were even being taken to the hospital.

I still don't know what it was, I think they are looking more at a chemical type thing. But they didn't even cancel school today. I didn't send Hunter! Until they can tell me what it was and make sure it is out of there, I won't send him. I've heard that there are only a handful there at school today!

Hunter is fine! They finally put them on the bus, as soon has he got home, I made him strip his clothes off on the front porch and put him straight in the shower. Thank God, that Richard came home to be with me. I was a mess! I called him when I found out and I was screaming crying and he came straight home to be with me while we waited. It is a very scary thing when you can't find anything out about your child in a situation like that.

Now on to something else! We still haven't got our new horses yet! :( With Richard's work schedule and the other guys work schedule and then we are having to fence off another pasture area for them. They are both stud horses so we really need to watch were we put them. Hopefully soon we will have them!

Do you all remember when I took Donkey, the cat to the vet? Remember he was passing blood? Well that is over and he is better with that. But after the vet visit he was holding his head sideways and his balance was completely off. You know they say a cat always lands on their feet, well he didn't! So naturally I think he must have either an ear infection or just fluid in his ears because they squirted them full to clean them. So a day or two went by and he was only getting worse. I took him back to the vet and he said he had a PERFORATED EARDRUM! So this had to happen when his assistants were swabbing his ears! I was sooooooooooo mad! The vet gave him more meds and didn't charge me anything. But he is almost back to normal now, he is still alittle sideways!

Now some quilty things!!! I picked up these fabrics the day of Hunter's doctor appointment. I don't really have a clue what I will use these first ones for, I'll just stick them in my stash and use them someday!
This is a panel and I don't have a clue what I will do with it either but it was only $2, maybe I'll use it someday!
This is some fabric that Hunter picked out. He loved it, maybe I will make him a pillowcase or something like that.
And here are a couple of little stitchery things that I did a few days ago. I have some primitive looking frames that I think I will put them in.

I guess that is all for now. I have been working a little bit on my Civil War Diary Quilt, so I will post about that later.

WOW, what a horrible experience. =( I can't imagaine knowing your kid is on lock down and not getting to go get him or get information. It's a good thing your sister works at the Dr office or you wouldn't have known until much later. =(

Sounds like you had a horrible time waiting to hear about Hunter, glad it all turned out ok in the end.
Love the fabrics you purchased and my gosh where did you get that Last Supper panel for, for only $2? What a find. Love your little stitcheries, too cute. And finally I'm glad your back in the land of blogging.

What a scary experience, I would not be in a hurry to send Hunter back either.

I think your sticheries turned out nicely.

I love the cats and yarn ball stitchery. It's soooo cute! I love doing stitchery. I find it to be very relaxing and I can do it while I'm watching TV or waiting for my daughter at dance. It makes me feel like I've been productive.
