Our New Babies Have Arrived!

First off, Hunter is still sick so we didn't go to church with mom this morning. Since he is feeling so bad I guess you could say we had a "Redneck Easter Egg Hunt" :) We hid the eggs in the house because it was so cold outside. Here is one of the photos!!!! Even though we did it in the house, Hunter still had a great time. Oh and this is Andrew's deer that he killed this past Fall, we just got it back from the taxidermist last week! He is very proud of it.
I didn't get alot of sewing done last night like I had wanted too. Hunter and I colored the Easter Eggs and played around, I did finally finish my stitchery that I was working on and I started another one this morning. This next one will probably take me a few days to finish.
Now....Our new babies are finally here! Richard left to pick them up earlier and he called on his way home to prepare me for how the Chocolate one looks. If you remember I said that the guy that we got him from had sold him and had just got him back. I know Terry had told us that he looked terrible but I never thought that he would look this bad. He has been pretty much starved down. That man that had him should be very ashamed of letting this poor horse get this bad. I think Terry was pretty mad about it too. Anyway it will be a long road ahead if he makes it. We will just have to do the best we can to get him on the road to recovery. One of our other horses looked ALMOST that bad when we got it. We worked hard to get the weight back on him and now the vet says he is too fat! Of course, I'm only putting the photo on here that shows his head, I just don't have the heart to show you the rest of him...yet. I had a few other names in mind to name him but after seeing him I'm thinking either "Chocolate Blessings" or "A Chocolate Miracle" Because it will be a miracle and a blessing if he makes it.

I still love the horse and at least here he will be taken great care of and loved. Hunter is so happy with his new horse too. He has named him "Jingle Bell" I'm not sure how he came up with that but it is his so we let him name it. Now, Jingle Bell is fat as mud!!! We will have him gelded soon, but the other one is just in no shape to have a surgery right now. These aren't the best photos but they kept walking around checking things out.

I will spend the evening getting Hunter ready for his surgery in the morning. He is scheduled for 6:30am. I know that is early but since he can't have anything to eat or drink before so the earlier the better. I think I dread it worse than he does, with him only being five he doesn't have a clue as to what surgery means. I'm sure he will be a little sore afterwards.

That's shameful that someone would let a animal go like that .Now that he is in a good home ,I'm sure you will have him fattened up in know time .
Good luck with Hunter tomorrow I know its hard to watch your baby go through it ,but it will all be over soon .I'm surprized their doing the surgery when he is sick .
Let us know how he makes out .

It's about 7;30 now and I've said a prayer for you all, especially Hunter. Your horses are beautiful! Sorry to hear about the chocolate one but if he can't get better On Top of the World, then where could he get better? You guys will be the best thing that ever happened to him and he'll love you always :0)

You are probably home now with Hunter, I do hope it all went well. Poor horse I know you will nurse him to health.

Hope Hunter is better. I'm sure having the new horses around will be a lot of work, but you'll really enjoy it.

It is amazing how careless some people are. At least the horses are at a great home and will be well cared for now. Hope Hunters surgery went well and both of you are doing ok.

I hate seeing animals mistreated. I'm glad that you have him now, hopefully he will grow to be a happy healthy horse.

I also pray that your son does well in his surgery.

Chocolate blessing would be a great name for the horse. I don't understand how people can mistreat animals like that.
Hope everything goes well with Hunter.

Whoever let that horse get in such bad shape should be thrown in jail. I know with you he'll get tender loving care and hopefully he'll pull through. Hunter's horse is so cute and I love it's name, Jingle Bell.

I hope all goes well with his surgery. It's always harder on the parents who have to sit and wait.
