A Few More blocks

Still trying to get used to the boys being back in school. So this morning, I took some time for myself and started reading this book! It was SUPER GOOD! I really liked it and I finished it this evening.

My friend, Carla, finally recieved her pin cushion that I made for her, so now I can post a photo of it. I missed out on the pincushion swap that Linda held so Carla and I decided to do a little swap between us. I just loved the cupcake that she made for me!

I also made a few more of my hexagons for my new quilt! I now have 23 of them. These really work out nice with the precut strips that I have in my scrap bins. I think I will really like this quilt when it is done. It will take me a while, the pattern calls for 110 blocks so I still have a long way to go.

I'm a little bit depressed, Mom doesn't get to come home until next weekend! :( I guess I will have to wait a few more days!

Well, I'm off...Hunter wants me to watch Spiderwick with him before he has to go to bed and then I think I might work on a few Civil War blocks!

I LOVE the pincushion! Is there a pattern for it somewhere? Also, your hexagon quilts are AWESOME! That quilt is going to be a very cheerful, happy quilt.

Thanks for sharing!

Your hexagons look great - you are what - about a 1/5th of the way to having what you need? KNowing you, it'll take you a week or so to finish the rest.

I have a Bernina 140 - normal throat space - but I find if I am just stipling or meandering, it's not very bad at all when I quilt.

Beautiful pin cushion and the hexagon blocks are great! My daughter loves the Spiderwick Chronicles! We've read all 5 books and seen the movie countless times. We also started the first book in the Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles and are anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. It comes out in Sept. If you haven't read the books with Hunter I recommend it. The books are far better than the movie!

Yah for "fun" reading and the pin cushion is adorable!!

WOW, your hexagons look great! Are you using paper piecing or fabric foundations for them?

Hugs hun. Keep busy and that helps with the depression!
