Lost it...

Well, I just can't get in the mood to quilt! This post may seem jumbled and not make a lot of sense but here we go anyway....

I'm still waiting on the piece for my machine! :( That really irks me! I have a customer quilt on the frame and can't finish it because I am waiting for a new hook that goes in my bobbin area.

So since machine quitling is at a stand still for me, it would be a perfect time to work on some piecing, but I just can't bring myself to do it! Anyone else ever get like that? I have a ton of blocks and tops to work on but none of them interest me. My sewing machine actually has dust on it. Last night while Richard and Andrew were doing their P90X workouts, I sat on the bed and sorted through some drawers of fabric....nothing interested me, so I put it all up and went to bed.

I did this once before a few years ago. I never turned my sewing machine on for over 6 months!!! But then I started back at full force after that! I do have a lot going on trying to get Andrew ready for his trip to Europe in 2 weeks but that is not really it, I just have LOST INTEREST!!!!!

So what do I need? A break? New inspiration? New fabrics? New patterns?

Anyone else ever get like this???

I get like this very often. My tip would be put everything away and just don't stress over the fact that you don't want to sew. It's a hobby so you don't have to sew if you don't want to. Try something different or just enjoy more family time. You'll get back to wanting to sew eventually, trust me

I have no desire to quilt right now - unless it's stuff like simple table runners. I figure one of these days I'll get back to it but if it's not fun, I'm not doing it. You'll get back to it.

Yep - all the time & I found that only the passage of time will fix it.

Buying a new magazine or fabric just creates more "want to do" projects for me...

I'm in there with you....have no desire to sew....force myself to make at least 2 blocks a day on the two memory quilts a friend asked me to make.....ugh!!!

Happens to all quilters I think from time to time ... for me I have learned to just go with it and then one day poof your back at it.. do some deep cleaning or organizing or what ever else until the quilting bug hits again :O)

You are ready for warm weather...green grass and flowers...gardening...cooking summer type foods...not having to wear a coat when going outside.

Your desire to quilt will be back...it is not gone forever.

I understand completely Kristie. When I was expecting Cameron, I just downed tools and wasn't interested in stitching at all. It was just so strange for me. As soon as he arrived, I was back into it again. All that stitching time wasted! Unbelievable. I hope you find your sewing Mojo soon!
*hugs*

Wow! Sounds like a common thing for quilters.
My 'interest' seems to come and go regularly.
I just go go go when the mojo flows. :o)

I have my bouts of this, too. DON'T STRESS ABOUT IT! It will come back eventually!! Don't beat yourself up about it. Get one of your books and curl up with it for a while!
