Another good mail day!

The first day of school for the boys was yesterday! Andrew being 15 didn't really say too much about going, I guess since he is older he just knows that he has to go anyway! Hunter on the other hand cried all morning while I was trying to get him ready. He kept asking me, who was going to protect me while he was gone! Which was sweet but I know he was just trying to get to stay home. I drove him to school since it was his frist day of 1st grade. We ate breakfast together and his friends from kindergarden kept coming up and talking to him, so then I decided he would be just fine so I left.

After I got home I was rather restless with no kids here. I love spending time with my boys, but I guess it will take me a few days to get used to the idea of them being back in school again. I think one thing that will help is Mom will be home on Friday!!!!! I know I am 36 but I still miss my Mom while she is gone!!!! I know I was wanting to have more done on my hexagon quilt before she got home, but I don't think I will have as much done as I wanted. I know it is hard to tell much about it in this photo since it is on top of the other quilt, the designs just sort of run together, but maybe you can get the idea of how it is looking.

Here are some fabrics that I had ordered a few days ago for my Civil War quilts. Most of these will be used in the Civil War Diary quilt. I only order 1/4 yard at a time, the fabric is more expensive than I usually pay, but it doesn't take alot to make the blocks since they are only 6 inches. The one photo the look pink but they are really reds. I am very pleased with these fabrics. I think I should have enough pinks and browns to finish my Love Letters quilt, thanks to Carla!!!

Oh and my other patterns came in the mail. I really like them, but the Butterscotch Pie is my favorite. I have a ton of scraps precut so this will help with it. I don't plan on starting it right now, I would like to finish a few other things first.

Well, I need to do the morning feeding and ride the fence line. We had some storms late last night, so I always like to ride around the fence line to check to see if it is down anywhere from a tree or something. I have to hurry and do that, I am waiting for the UPS truck to deliver some sawmill blades and if I'm not here he won't leave them.

Wow - love the quilt blocks so far! Where did you order your fabric from - there is a couple in there that I would love to order myself! School starts back here on the 25th - so I've got a bit more time before I have to get back into the school routine!

Love the fabrics. That is going to be a beautiful quilt. I think I am going to have to order that civil war diary book.
Have fun sewing today while the boys are at school. The quilt your Mom picked out is coming along great. Love your choices of colors.

You hexagon quilt is lovely, even on top of another quilt! And I love your new patterns.

I know what you mean about last nights storm, it was so loud last night that it woke me up.

I can't believe that it's time to go back to school already. That butterscotch pie quilt is awesome. Then again...so is your hexagon pineapple. LOVE your fabrics. I'm sorry I've been a bad friend latley; I've been too crabby to comment.

I just love the new blocks. That looks like so much fun. They are beautiful. It would be good if that was a quilt as you go project.
