I'm starting another one!!!

After my last post about having 77 tops, I know what you all are thinking...but yes, I am starting yet another!!! First I got a little depressed, then the more I thought about it the more I thought that, this is what I like to do, it's not a job that I can get fired from, it's just what I love doing. But I do promise you all that someday after I get my own quilting machine they will all be quilted!!! I plan on working on some of the baby quilts soon, they will fit in my small machine just fine and there are somewhere around 20 of those. The others, I just plan on taking a break from piecing and quilt tops for a few months!!! So here is what I started today, and I can blame this one on my MOM.

I recieved my pattern in the mail today for the "Everlasting Wreath", I was telling mom about it on the phone and she said it sounded really pretty. She said, "I bet you can't have it finished by the time I get home" Of course, I can't she comes home in 2 weeks!!! She is crazy! So we decided on 1/4 of it! That is still going to be alot of blocks, but it may be possible for me to get that much of it done. I know what she is doing, she is trying to keep my busy so my mind is not on the boys having to go back to school on Tuesday!!! I was telling her how much I was going to miss them and I said I didn't know what I would do with my extra time. So anyway, I am going to try to do several of these blocks before she gets home.

Here are my first 2 blocks!!!

Very easy really, just paper piecing strips. I have several 2 inch strips already cut so I plan on using alot of them on this. I'll cut more when I start running low. I plan on just using scrap strips of all different colors. But to bring it all together I am using the same beige print all through the quilt and black print in the center of each block.

Here is a photo of Donkey that I took the other day when I was sorting through everything. He sleeps so weird! But you just have to love him....and to think I was afraid to touch a cat before I got him. For those of you that don't know I have OCD and that was one of my "weird things"

Tomorrow morning we are going to the Route 60 Yard Sale!!! We go every year! They started it about 6 years ago and we haven't missed a year, but sadly Mom will not get to go with us this year. We usually leave around 5:30am and get there around 6:30am. It is a little over 40 miles of nothing but YARD SALES! Richard has to work tonight so we will get a late start and this year they are doing it a little different. They started today and it runs through tomorrow. It has always been on Saturday only so I hope everything is not picked over too bad. I'll have to post tomorrow evening to let you know how it went!!!!

That is perfectly alright for you to start another quilt. If you think you have to many, remember me, I like quilts. LOL The blocks are beautiful. Went to the Sewing Center today and Barbara gave me a lesson on paper piecing. I am going to try it. Hope you find lots of material at the yard sale.

Kristie, I like the Everlasting wreath so much that I just ordered it. Thanks for sharing the pictures - I'll be following your progress. I like your idea of using the same centers and the cream as the background.
