Got some goodies in the mail today! :) My friend, Lisa,
had a PIF (pay it forward) on her blog a while back and of course I signed up for it. Here is the gift that she made for me. Isn't it beautiful! She knows my colors well!! I do love it! Thanks so much Lisa!
Also in the package were 20 Civil War Reproduction Fat Quarters!!! Lisa called me a few days ago and asked if I wanted to do a little fabric swap. Of course I said YES! I love Civil War fabrics!!! These will work well with my others! Now, I have to send her some goodies!!
I really need to finish up my Civil War quilts! I have the Pink and Brown (Civil War Love Letters) ready to add borders and it has been in that stage for months! :) I need to pick the paper off of 121 blocks and that is why I am at a stand still on it. The other quilt is the Civil War Diary Quilt, I like it real well too. I have 70 out of 121 blocks done on it. Maybe I'll work on them more this Winter.
Again, thanks so much for the nice comments and prayers for Jim. They mean a lot to me.
Kristie

Good to hear the Ole Jim is doing better. Animals sure do touch our hearts, don't they? I hope he continues to do well. Karen
We do get attached to our furry friends - whether cats, dogs, or even an old mule.Glad to hear Jim is improving.
Those fabrics are sure pretty.
I've been wondering what happened to those Civil War Quilts. You actually inspired me to get one of the books and although I love reading it I haven't made any of the blocks yet. Glad to hear Jim is a bit better xx
I am glad to hear Jim got to go for a walk with you today :O)...I am still hoping he surprises everyone and makes it thru this :O)...
Your quilt you received is pretty :O)... as were the fat quarters :O)...
Oh Kristie! I'm just catching up and read your terrible news about Jim. Glad to hear that he is picking up a little and hope that he can pull through this one.
Your PIF gift is lovely as are those fabrics.
Glad to hear that Jim has improved, my heart went out to you when you first told us about his illness but I couldn't think of anything to say as it reminded me of a wee shetland horse I once had. We used to put 'Vicks' around her muzzle to help with her breathing and sometimes put it in hot water in her stable so the vapours would help her. At that stage we would try anything and she did pull through as I hope Jim will.
kind wishes
Miche'le
I am glad Ole Jim is inproving some. Your PIF you recieved is so cute! I am getting more into some hand embroidery. I think it adds so much to the wallhanging. I like the Civil War fat quarters. I think I will start collecting those and hopefully I can learn paperpiecing. Shady Shack has just gotten in some Civil War fabric. $5.00 a yard.
Oh I am so glad to hear Ole Jim is doing better. He is up there in years but he sure is a fighter. May not be his time. I sure feel for you. We have older animals also and it just breaks my heart when one of them is sick because I know at some point I will have to say good bye.
Prayers that this is not Ole Jim's time.
Judi B.
I am glad that Jim is doing better. What a lovely little quilt you got there.
I'm so glad to hear that Jim is on the mend. And what a great pick-me-up to get that little gem of a quilt and those great FQ's!
Hugs!
No! Jim isn't just an animal. He's one of our treasures in the circle of our lives and my heart reaches out to you my friend. I'm so glad to read he's showing signs of improvement and I by God want you to know that all Creatures Great and Small matter. Especially Mules. True, tender and tall, too! I want a button now for my Blog with the face of Jim that says "I love Jim!" Of course I can't make those things but I just like to let my feelings be known to one and all... :) Warmly and with my love, *karendianne.
What pretty blocks. Knowing you, they will all turn in to something beautiful.
So glad Jim is feeling better. I pray he pulls through.
be blessed, my friend!
Michelle
