Out of boredom.....I started a new quilt! :( That is probably not the best idea to start one but I couldn't help it. I got hubby up for work at 3:30am this morning and I just could not fall back to sleep after he left.
I started working on the hand quilting, but it was just much too early to get in to that! :) I would have loved to finish putting my Stacked Coins quilt together but I don't have the background fabric. I need to pick up a bunch of background fabric so that I will have it here when I need it. So anyway....I started looking through quilt magazines to find something that I did not have to have a neutral background for, and this is what I came up with!
This block is called "Tic-Tac-Toe" I have 4 blocks cut out and only one sewn together but hey, it is now only 5:30am!!!! Anyway, not sure how big I will make this quilt, lap or bedsize, just depends on when I get bored with it. It takes longer to cut the blocks out than it does to piece them together.
The boys go back to school this morning. I will miss them, I so enjoy having them home with me. But this will be a short school week for them.

We are both early bird this morning! Cute block!
Early birds unite! Love the block, Kristie. Maybe you can get a good deal on a bolt of a neutral background. My sister and I shared the cost of one once and with a coupon, it was a bargain. I plan on doing it again sometime even if I do it alone.
I always heard early birds get the worm.I love mornings if I get enough rest. You will have the blocks done by noon. They are pretty. Can't wait to see what they look like put together. Are you using sashing?
So bright and cheerful...I agree if you are up early - might as well do something instead of just sitting there staring off into space.
Have a great day!
Love the block design and the colors. Should be interesting once all those points meet. I like the background fabric. I'm a late nighter and love to sleep in till about 10am, though this morning my dog got me up at the awful hour of 7am. No children home anymore to worry about getting off to school. Happy Quilting.
Well this is a very nice happy block! I'm an earlier riser, too. Some things though I just can't wrap my head around. Like hand quilting, like you said. Nice to visit you. Warmly, *karendianne.
I made aquilt using that block - so happy to have that ticked off of my list.
