Boxy Stars

It's been a long day, just busy, busy, busy! Still trying to get this sewing done before Christmas. I am so behind on answering emails and reading blogs, hopefully after Christmas I can get caught up on everything.

It is soooo cold and we still have several inches of snow! Tonight the we are supposed to get 4-8 more inches of snow and maybe some ice! :( I can handle the snow but I hate the ice! So if you don't hear from me for a few days then my power is out! It usually does go out when we get ice.
So today I did a lot of sewing just in case the power did go out and if it does then I can work on bindings. I have plenty of them that needs to be done. I got the lap quilt quilted that I had on the frame. Again, this is in black and white because it is a Christmas gift and I don't want to give it away. I pieced the top maybe a year or so ago, it is called Boxy Stars from the Quiltville website.

I did get the binding sewed on by machine so now I just need to hand sew it to the back. Hopefully that will happen tomorrow!

I also pieced these 10 blocks! I had so much fun strip piecing those neutral blocks the other day for Bonnie's mystery quilt that I decided to piece 10 of them today in color! They will be used to make pot holders that will be Christmas gifts! I still need to trim them up and quilt them. Quick and easy gifts.

And here is Donkey sleeping again in his favorite place!! Silly cat!

Hopefully, I will be back tomorrow if I still have power and I will have more Christmas quilting progress to show!

I love the black and white combo variation of your quilt. What panto did you use? Nice pictures too. I had a cat as a youngster and absolutely loved sleeping with her. After she went missing I became allergic to them. Now I have to be satisfied just seeing pictures of cats with personality! Donkey is such a treat! :)

I love the boxy star pattern! Somebody is very lucky to receive that quilt!! and Thanks for the potholder idea!! I really enjoyed making string blocks and they would be great made into potholders. A great way to use up scraps!!
