Featured Quilt Of The Week ~ 1

I was laying in bed last night thinking about my quilts. It seems that all I do is make them, fold them up and put them away in the bedroom. Since I don't have alot of space they go in dressers and trunks. I get them out every little bit and refold them. Once they are finished no one usually sees them again, except for me when I refold them. So I thought maybe once a week I would post a photo of one of my quilts that I have made, to share with everyone else. I would love to see everyone elses older work too.

So here is the first featured quilt. The name is "Pieced Tulips" it measures to a queen size quilt. It was longarm quilted by my friend Sandy. She does a wonderful job with her quilting. I got the pattern out of a quilt magazine that I bought several years ago. This quilt is about 5 years old. You will see as I post my photos that I love scrap quilts. When I started quilting, money was tight and I found that I could make more quilts if I bought fabric 1/2 yd at a time. I could get more different fabrics and use them on different quilts.

This is one of my favorites and I have often thought about making another one.

Beautiful Quilt! I keep a scrap quilt on my bed. We had lived in an apartment for the last two years where you can't color the walls, so a lot of color on the bed sure cheers the room up.

Lovely quilt Kristy. You know that quilts on the walls help keep the home warm....lol... well that's what I tell my dh, but it's another way of being able to see your beautiful creations.

That is just B-E-A-utiful! And...should not be hidden away in a trunk. But...that's just my opinion and not worth that much. I can't wait til the day my quilts look that great! Since I'm new to this, I have no hidden away treasures. But...one day.....

Very colorful..your quilts always look so great. I look at my first ones and simply sigh...I have come a long ways but still have a long ways to go.

Have you made a photo album with your quilts. I have an on-going one. Besides pictures I put in scraps of the fabric used, finished size, date, whom I gave it to..etc.

Wow, that is beautiful! I love the idea of a 'quilt show' in pictures. Hope you are planning lots of wall spaces to hang all your quilts in the new house. Of course, you'll have to change them every month! Or, Richard could build you a quilt rack!

So, your new house. Will it have a guest room? I'm thinking you could store all your quilts on a guest bed...sort of Princess and the Pea Style!!

Ok, now let me get this straight...quilt of the WEEK? Girl, you've got enough to give us a quilt a day and that will last until Summer!! =)

It really is a lovely quilt but again...I DON'T HAVE SCRAPS LIKE THAT. HOnestly, you couldn't get a quilt that nice out of MY scraps.

My DH's next project is a ladder and I'm going to layer quilts on it. We just got one of those not so attractive flat screen tvs. While it is fun to watch, It really doesn't go with the whole cabin Northwoods theme I was shooting for. It'll be something, not take up a lot of run and it's a little different--- think about it....

That is a beautiful quilt! I am impressed with your use of scraps and making a scrapy quilt! I am not good at making scrap quilts!

Very pretty! I love scrap quilts, too. In fact, often I've bought lots of fat quarters specifically for a quilt just so it could be scrappy. Now I'm resolved to use the sraps I already have!

I love your quilt! It is just beautiful! I recently bought a set of rulers to help me make the pointed part of the star but haven't had time to start anything :0) Someday Maybe!

Very Pretty!! It is one of those quilts that if you buy the background up front you can buy the colors little by little when you find ones that you like.
