Every weekend we always rent movies and this is our family time. I am a huge History buff. I love anything to do with history, whether it be movies or books. My favorite time in American History is the Civil War era. And we also love GOOD Westerns, not the spaghetti westerns, but the good ones. So one of the movies that I rented yesterday was called "September Dawn" now I don't usually talk about all of the movies that we watch but this one is a must see!! As much as I have read about history, I had never heard of this happening. The movie is about the Mountain Meadows Massacre . It happened September 11, 1857. A wagon train going to California was ambushed by a group of Mormons. 120+ men, wemon, and children were killed, there were only 17 people that survived and they were young children. Anyway, I won't tell all of the movie, just in case you want to watch it. The movie also had a girl from the wagon train and a boy from the Mormons that fell in love, I won't tell what happened there either, but I will just say it didn't end the way that I thought it would. It was all that I could do not to cry, I knew if I did Richard would tease me about it.
